This show did such a good job at showing the sibling “roles” like Jeremiah and Conrad were such perfect examples of the stereotypical oldest and youngest. I’m the oldest and I saw so much of myself in Conrad. I always felt like I had to be the strong one and hold everything together and hold everything in when my family was going through hard times. Especially with my dad being absent.

He knew that Belly was in love to the core with Conrad and faced that he didn't stand a chance next to him. But bro, how is it that you waited until you saw your crush and YOUR BROTHER about to become something to take action in the matter? Like I had no idea Jeremiah liked Belly until he blew off those fireworks and stopped Belly and Conrad from kissing cause he never gave a hint about it! Not even when she dated Cam! I don't know if this happens differently in the books cause I haven't read them yet, but dang, I can't understand how people can root for someone who not only did blow off fireworks close to where his crush and his brother (something that could've hurt them) were, but also lied about his brother liking a singer/musician so his friend with benefits/girlfriend every other day (I honestly don't know what was the status of his relationship with Nicole) could take him to a concert and that would put more space between Belly and Conrad.

Loveeee this show!!! I honestly think Belly and Conrad should be together, so I was happy with how it ended. I definitely get tired of love triangles tho because you're just ending up hurting the other person no matter what. And I think people use the love triangle too much and a lot of them are done poorly but there are some don't perfectly and I'm fine with ones that are done good but still like okay your still technically hurting someone, but one's that are done poorly I'm just like why even do a love triangle to begin with this didn't really add anything to the show and or movie. I was team Cam and Belly, but felt he deserved better. Maybe see if he and Nicole work out. I don’t know. I am team Jelly because they are healthier. While I am glad Conrad got more development compared to the book, I hate how he is such an ass to her a majority of the time. I get why he lied to his brother, but I feel he should have told him. I also hate how he only confesses his feelings for her when she is dating someone. That leads her on. When some are against Jeremiah, they talk about his 2 infractions, which I am not justifying, but compared to Conrad’s 10, they are not a big deal. At least, Jeremiah is honest with about how he feels and is respectful of her. Belly is toxic too, but at least she was honest with Cam about why she broke up with him and she did the right thing instead of cheat, and she tells Taylor the truth about her situation. Did I like what she did when she was drunk? No, but did it make sense because she was drunk? Yes. She is not a bad person. I am not saying Conrad is a bad person either, but he is a bad romantic partner, at least for the time being.

Also, Conrad is a bad romantic partner for Belly because she looks up to him. The power dynamic is off and he holds more power because he’s older than her. His mindset is different, he’s going to college. Belly probably doesn’t even know what a college application looks like😭I could never ship them…

A 17 year old/18 year old is going through a different part of their adolescence that personally made the relationship I was in (when I was Belly’s age) feel more off when I look back. That’s why I used that term. My family was also weirded out by the whole situation too.

Also, I responded to your post on my last comment, but I see you expended your statement so I thought I should as well. As I said, I could be projecting a bit but it’s my opinion. So I was in a relationship like Belly and Conrad (same ages). I say that there’s a power imbalance because my whole world was all about that guy like or I was pressure to do things I wasn’t ready for or understood everything I was getting myself into. That’s because I felt like he was more mature than me. Even without any sexual stuff, I felt pressured to act smarter, cooler, and dress showing more skin etc. I see Belly doing these things in the show but it’s supposed to be her just coming of age story, I guess. I thought that too back then. Now, I look back and feel icky. Anyway, that’s how I interpreted the show and how it made me feel.
