I don’t think she is a bad person, but a flawed person who made bad decisions. Book spoiler: i hate book 3 for the letter swapping. That really proves Jeremiah never had a chance.

I am sorry. I felt for Steven at the beginning of this situation. The love triangle mess made his two best friends not attend his graduation. The fact they may not even have thought of him during this was heart breaking. Belly was so selfish for thinking only she had the right to grieve over Susannah’s death. Girl, your brother was there every year too. He is just grieving differently. Also, in the flashbacks, Belly was hogging her talks with Conrad. I get it. First and young love, but let Stephen talk to his friend too. I also admired him covering for Belly and being mature for his mom.

Belly is the red flag in this series. I am team Conrad but as the season progressed I was more and more under the impression that Belly is being the bad guy. I was super impressed with the maturity Jeremiah and Conrad have shown, but especially Jeremiah. And Belly just can't make up her mind, so she should just leave them alone. I mean, she is literally considering getting together with Jeremiah a month after breaking up with Conrad 💀. Also, she was the one breaking up with Conrad, not the other way around

I think the only reason I am not team Conrad as a partner because he always shuts down when he is in relationship mode. Every tome he is in relationship with someone, he is broody and miserable and pushes people away. I feel he likes the anticipation more than being in the actual relationship. I do not dislike him as a person, just a relationship partner. At least until he gets his act together.

But let's face it, his mom battled cancer for a year and died a month ago, at the time the season ends. People grieve differently and his responses and shutting down are completely understandable. He's not ready for a relationship and wasn't able to be in one with Belly also because she didn't understand how he grieves. Belly makes no freaking sense the entire season either. And in the show we have only really seen him in grieving mode almost. Jeremiah clearly responds differently, but I don't think he's right for Belly either. Or rather, Belly is not right for him. Because he has done a lot of growing and I'm curious to see how they will handle him and his relationship with Belly in the next season. Because in the books he was certainly not good for Belly

I find it odd how Belly was pissy at her brother Steven for throwing a graduation party bc of grieving Susannah's death but she couldn't understand that Conrad might not be okay enough while she was dying?? Like he forgot her corsage and was being distant like... no duh, his mother is dying. And then she was jumping to conclusions about a break up. This was so messy. On top of that, she was confused on why Jeremiah wouldn't kiss her like... girl you left him for his brother! No duh he's hurt. I'm TeamConrad but... Belly was doing too much with both brothers. They both deserve better.

I agree with you on the fact that I also feel like Belly was the one that broke up with Connie and not the other way around like she says. Connie just wanted to leave because he tried to be there for her but he just wasn't in the mood. Reasonably so because his mom was dying and at this point in time it was going to be any day now before he gets the call he's been dreading. He wanted to remove himself from the situation but Belly wasn't really being that understanding. She went ahead and said let break up and you could see it on Connie's face that he was surprised she went there but the only reason why he didn't try to talk her out of it was because he knew given the circumstances that his mental state was only going to get worse and didn't want to put her through that. Originally he just wanted to leave prom, not breaking up. Belly added that on.

Was I the only person who felt the kids were all really entitled? I mean I get they want to keep the house and are still grieving their mom and stuff but Aunty said multiple times she can’t afford the house and it’s really inconvenient for her to keep, financially and emotionally. They only spent summers in it anyway so I just think they’re doing the most w how they’re coming at her. Be mad at y’all daddy, he could buy it from her for y’all, but won’t.
