I worked in CA ADV, in 05 and heard about the new geese from a small world cast member. It was a year or two later, they were installed. Before the characters were added, I know that.

The original had rubber heads and just looked more realistic. You can see the hinge on the new geese beaks!

No, it's just because for example when they the sing the "fa la la, fa la la, la la la" it's fast right so it stays with its mouth open maybe because the motors moving the mouth can't move so fast
