Because the Crown has, since the Glorious Revolution, guaranteed that the Westminster system of parliamentary authority cannot be superseded by a tyranny. IMHO, apart from it being extremely ill-mannered, haven’t heard that any of the premiers of the states you mentioned actually conducted a referendum on the matter of becoming a republic which gave them the right to act on behalf of the people in their particular state. All of those states you mention except Tasmania (which is liberal by the skin of its teeth) are Labor as is our woke federal government (which is probably too scared to pursue a republic this term after their resounding failure with the Voice). The federal liberal party has just overtaken the federal labor government on a two party preferred basis; here in Queensland we are due for an election at the end of this month and from what I read the libs will win outright. There’s alway the awful thought too as to which bozo might become President if a republic ever took over, which I think highly unlikely in the foreseeable future

I would like an Australian head of state one day. But respect and love for the monarchy is alive and well. I think there’s always a republician conversation every year. It’s sort of don’t fix what is isn’t broken. Britain will always part of our history and soul…and always be our friend….except with the ashes😬

I can see the predominance in these chats is pro monarchy. Six years ago I, too was a monarchist, but no longer. H changed that. Not only am I disgusted by his behaviour, but also by the lack of will to prosecute it. H has single handedly demonstrated the meaning of 'white elitist privilege '. The hoi poloi would have been locked away 6 years ago had they behaved in like manner. H's behaviour has precipitated investigation which reveals that there is no difference between the monarchy, politicians.& the globalist agenda.. the state of Britain is appallingly bad, so that here really is no benefit to having a monarch. At the moment most Aussies are more interested in sports than politics, and so the status quo is maintained, however, this will change. We will become a republic as the monarchy holds no value for us, & as demonstrated through H, holds very different values.

While I understand your position, I also believe that the politicians in favor of Australia becoming a Republic are also thinking about their reputations among those of their constituents who are in favor of a Republic. Were they to meet KCIII, they very well could be accused of talking out of both sides of their mouths - campaigning for a republic and schmoozing with the Monarch. They have made a choice. On the other side, KCIII is still King in Australia, so there should have been a way around the politics. However, I believe that KCIII is astute enough and sophisticated enough NOT to take the absence of a group of politicians as a personal snub.
