Just a Few Acres Farm

Just a Few Acres Farm

Күн бұрын

Today is a wonderful day on the farm, and I'm going to take you along with me! Life on our small farm sharply changes with the seasons. In winter's short days, we focus on tending to the livestock, getting inside projects done, and relaxing more than in the busy summer months. In this video, I take you through a late fall day in our farm family's life.
Note:
-We do not offer farm tours or accept visitors
-We do not sell from the farm
-We do not ship our farm's products
-We do not sell live animals

You have something special Pete, I’m not talking about the farm or animals, we know they are special. What I’m referring to is you and Hillary’s relationship. You’re both lucky to have found each other. That is truly special. Love the videos!

From the sound of it, Pete has a deep appreciation for Hillary after he went through a rough 3 year period. She stuck around and helped him through it. It appears she's the glue that keeps everything together.

Behind or in front, if you prefer, of every man that stands successful is a woman who stands equally there even more successful. I've always referred to her by, "She who must be obeyed." No man I know disobeys his woman, for if there is any nonsense, She finds a way to exact punishment with a big Whip that is made to crack!!😂😂😂😂💪

I just enjoy seeing you again every other day or so. Doesn't matter if it is farm work or repair work or sharing your thoughts about farming. Hope you have a good day. I'm taking a load of metal over for scrap this morning. It's my little thing to raise money for our local charity fund through our adult Sunday school class. I get stuff from all around the area donated to me to scrap. Today I have already on my truck an old oven, and some old tire chains and some other stuff. Should get about $20 for the load which brings me about $60 so far for the past week. I've raised several thousand dollars so far over the past 10 years or so.

Eating together as a family is something that my wife and kids have ALWAYS done. It’s super important, in my view. Staying connected, close and interested is a need for everyone, if a family is going to be happy and thrive.

I agree100%! When i was growing up, we always had dinner together as a family (no cell phones back then) With the way things are today, most kids probably don't get to experience or know what it's like to have dinner as a family and that's sad. I have to say times have really changed since i was growing up (i'm in my mid 50's) I passed on the same values to my daughter. Now that she has her own family, she makes it a priority to have dinner together as a family as well.

I liked the little dance that Hilary did at the solar panels. Since you already have an inverter, are you going to install additional solar panels to cover your increased power needs on the farm. Designing solar installation would make one or two great videos

thank you. when we have a day that’s like yours. I use it. I experience it. And when a day comes that’s different i remember the day that wasn’t. i remind myself. i do this to try to appreciate. to try to be at peace, to have gratitude. Some of my family likes in places where it’s the same all year. I don’t think i could do that. I need this change, these seasons. my mind and my body need these different days, and i do appreciate it.

Always a joy to watch your video's Pete. We have a small farm, but always like to watch other farmers and how they go about their day. You always keep your videos positive, unlike so many others now who are constantly complaining about people not liking their videos or making some comment that is negative. I guess it was only a matter of time before that popped up. Now, let's get on that MD and get it done, lol.

Some may find this strange but growing up feeding pigs for an adult pig, my dad cut up a 55 gallon plastic drum 1/4 of the bottom probably a foot height and used that as a plate for one pig. Filled that plate 3/4 of water and used those metal large orange juice can u get at the store. With 3/4 water to 2-2.5 cans of pig food a mixture of pellets. It was enough to feed a pig daily. Little ones were twice a day. Pigs came out perfectly and not overweight.

If you have a side door on trailer, set up electric fence as a pen area and hillary "man" the door as you get the lighter pigs out one by one, then u left with 7 porkies, when u pull out trailer 4/5ft then run pigs back into orginal pen! It's how I do my lambs but pigs might be hard work!!
