It's a more interesting tidbit that Jane Widdop (Laura Lee/Winnie) and Jessica McLeod (Bernie) were actually the ones who pitched the idea to make their characters gay and let them end up together to the writer/director because both of them are gay in real life and thought the discovery could be part of their character arc.

I went to the theater with no clue what was on and just asked the teller what was playing in the next hour and he said he had no idea what this one was about besides being it's a wonderful life horror spoof so I decided to watch it instead of starting to watch killers of the flower moon at 10pm. I thought it was a fun film that you can introduce to your friends around the holidays. Everyone will get a laugh and there's lots of bits and one liners for inside jokes. Fun as it may be though it's probably not winning any awards

When you asked why is the camera lingering on these 2 guys as Winnie walked past, the one facing the camera was the writer , Michael Kennedy, (gay). He also wrote another script for a movie based on the premise of an older movie, Freaky.

Little fun fact: the reason the two girls became a couple in the end is because Jane Widdop (Winnie) and Jessica McLeod (Bernie) are both gay in real life and requested to the director/writer to let their characters end up together. Especially since the original It's a Wonderful Life was about finding your place in the world and they thought having a gay realization could be part of that discovery. Anyways the director liked the idea and decided to go all out with it.

I’m sad for the ppl who didn’t enjoy this movie. I had a fun time and the horror comedies made today don’t usually hit for me so this was a very pleasant surprise. I liked the final girl and her cute relationship with Bernie, the Angel killer/their costume was great, I liked the chase sequences especially the sequence in the theater, decent kills the candy cane one was pretty cool best kill of the movie, the dad being the killer caught me off guard, it made me emotional which I didn’t expect, I liked Justin King’s performance up until the third act where he has the town under his control which was pretty stupid, cast was good, humor was for the most part effective, I liked the concept of a multiverse slasher, the holiday of Christmas is a nice addition to the setting. It was really such a surprise and was gagged that ppl didn’t like it but oh well more time for me to watch it.
