Hi friends, as many of you know via my socials or community post, we lost Gromit this week. Please note this video was recorded before then and was supposed to be up days ago. I've only just finished it now, wanted to explain why the tone is a bit different than expected.

Really sorry for your loss, best wishes to you, take as much time off as you need.. For as little time I spent with your channel, I'm an animal lover and have had dogs as pets all my life. I know the feeling it's like losing a part of yourself.. I'll miss him.. And I'll keep supporting your channel. Much love to you. R.I.P. Gromit... lost but not forgotten. and forever in our hearts..

I do agree there's a rushed quality, but it's also a plus for me because it encourages a double feature. I loved all the character stuff (I found one aspect particularly moving), and Justin has never been so smarmy. lol. Plus, the mask is pretty awesome! I think I'll be watching this one every year. There seems to be a love it or hate it quality to this movie for some fans, but I really thought it was great fun. :)

The GF & I suffered through this one just hoping for a redemption that just never came to be. Unfortunate. We did hover feel that Justin Long's character was a lampoon of Joel Osteen which was worth note & probably long overdue. I felt like Totally Killer delivered the sentiment this movie tried to but ultimately, it felt like this one just never picked a lane & went all in.

It's dialogue is a little clunky sometimes, but I love how aggressively wholesome and sweet this movie is and I love this cast. Its an 8/10 for me😊

I saw this in a decently packed theater early for a Regal Monday Mystery Movie and had a blast. I think it was a good crowd movie.

Totally agree the short runtime was a detriment to the movie and that it should've been longer to flesh out aspects of the movie. 6 out of 10 does sound like a rating I'll agree about too. Also fun fact about the couples in this film. I was listening to a interview from Jane Widdop (Winnie) about this movie and found out originally Winnie and Bernie weren't suppose to get together and become a couple. Instead it was Jane and Jess McLeod (Bernie) themselves who suggested to the writer/director to have their characters go that direction because Jane is gay in real life and sounds like Jess is too going off what Jane was saying in her interview. I do know this has happened in the past before where the creators either unknowingly or knowingly hired a gay or bi actor in a role and the actor request to the creators if their characters can go the gay route and the creators were fine with the idea.

Im enjoying these films that are horror versions of iconic films.

I saw it at the Telluride Horror Show back in October. I think my main issue with the movie is the tonal inconsistency. There are times where it went from being dark and serious to adding these comedy bits out of nowhere that (as you pointed out) felt cringey at times. I enjoyed it, but it definitely needed to be fleshed out a little more. I walked away feeling like there was a better movie tucked away in here if it were a little longer.

I saw the film on VOD and I wished I could have liked it more. The premise, the Christmas atmosphere, and the "Angel" slasher were all handled well. However, I think the filmmakers were really going for the comedy instead of the horror. That might explain why some characters acted a bit strange and some clunky dialogue. The ending also left me with questions. Common problem I find with a "time travel" or "alternate timeline" plot.

Meh, at least it was bound to be a better Christmas themed horror movie than Black Christmas 2019.

i love watching justin long in horror movies and was excited to see katharine isabelle (aka margot verger ;) …..but the movie was cringe; i couldn’t take it after 20 min lmao it made “totally killer” looks like a masterpiece (just w/ diff holidays)

I enjoyed this but I couldn't help but feel it was rushed so I agree with you on that one. Also just moments that didn't make sense and were a bit plot holey. It was fun though!

I really wanted to like it, but it just didn't click with me. Really good cast, but I didn't care for the lead too much. Like Emma said, the movie was way too rushed, and I just honestly didn't care through out the movie. Joel McHaIe has some nice moments though. I would probably give it a 3.5/10. Hell, tis the season 4/10 it is, for Joel. Glad other people are enjoying it, and I don't mean to be a Grinch. I was really looking forward to this one.

The romance between Bernie and Winnie bugged me. It would have been far more impactful to just let it be a meaningful friendship like George Bailey and Clarence.
@iW34Rglasses00 Жыл бұрын
I agree. They did however build to that the whole movie. Or at least for me they seemed to have this romantic tension the whole movie so it didn't come out of the blue, at least for me.

First off, sending prayers for Gromit. I thought this was an average slasher at best as I felt the film use terrible CGI effects on some of the kills. I did like some of the emotional moments in the film, some of the dialogue was clunky at times.
@CDIII Жыл бұрын
I liked the Justin Long's character, but the rest of the film was hard to get through for me. Thumbs down.
@kevinbrasher5588 Жыл бұрын
This was sub-par. Totally Killer was a much better slasher recently released.
@woodsro Жыл бұрын
These high concept slashers seem to have become a thing lately. Again I liked the idea of the premise with this one but felt the slasher portion and comedy (was it trying to be a comedy? Maybe not) was pretty average.
@iW34Rglasses00 Жыл бұрын
I enjoyed this movie but it is very flat the whole way through. It builds tension in the begining and when she first gets transported to the alternate timeline and then it coast the rest of the movie. The climax is so boring i was speechless thats how it ended. SPOILERS... They just kill him with zero effort and then go back. Like wtf. Imagine if you were watching friday the 13th and then at the final battle the Mc just manhandles Jason for 20 seconds and kills him without him even fighting back. Like seriously this is the evil mastermind.
