Make new friends, they said. Just be yourself, they said. It'll be easy, they said. Well they forgot I've got a personality like the result of rusty-nails' and sandpaper's drunken one-night stand.
This episode was hilarious and had a very interesting moral to boot. But I really wish I could figure out if Trixie was trying to end herself or if she was just being unwise as usual.
...I don't like Trixie. Her ego and bumbling frustrate me.
Also, she was NOT right in "Boast Busters." Yes. I'm aware of the fact that I'm the only one in the fandom who thinks that. This episode made me realize that I'm going to have to get around to reviewing "Boast Busters" at some point in time. Maybe if the next hiatus lasts longer than a couple of months.

I'd ask if L'Oreal would even work on an ethereal mane, but Pip grabbed Luna's mane in 'Luna Eclipsed,' and in the comics one of the Nyx did Nightmare Moon's mane. Clearly there's a physical aspect to them. Which makes them all the more disruptive when the princesses are sitting at the front of any gathering.

For one thing, I thought that Manticore trick was the pony version of the bullet catching trick (both are difficult and deadly if performed incorrectly). Second, the best way I can figure that could be done without literal magic was for there to be a hidden break in the curtians so that (in reality) Trixie would land on a specially prepared cushion backstage but it'd "look" like the manticore swallowed her, then Trixie would just use a hidden backdoor to get into the box (of course, the stage curtians hiding the backstage area would also hide how Trixie would actually get to the box). As for how Celestia gets her mane and tail to do that "wavy" effect. If Twilight Sparkle "borrowing" Celestia, Luna, and Cadences' power to hide it from Tirek (and of course, moving the sun and the moon for them while Celestia and Luna can't do that) is of any indication, it's just a side effect of using *MASSIVE MAGICAL POWER*! (Celestia and Luna would have to be constantly using their magical powers for both the Sun and the Moon to have their constant proverbial "dance" across the sky)

honestly my biggest problem is that Trixie has already shown that she's good with magic in her first appearance maybe not on par with twilight but she could probably teleport to the box also I can't really see the appeal in a magic show to us a magician is interesting to see because they can do things that seem imposible but in a world where magic already exists and any unicorn already has some potential to do it, it's not very interesting unless they pull off some new spell or something ponies don't think unicorns can do or if it were an earth pony or Pegasus than that would be interesting to see remember when everyone is super than no one is

That ending was extremely out of character for Celestia, and a lost opportunity for some jokes and fan-pandering. If I was responsible for it, what we would've actually seen would be Celestia sharing headphones with Vinyl, both bobbing their head together with Celestia with her eyes closed and smiling, Cranky would be trying on Celestia's mane on his head (it's so long he can just get next to her and stand down "wind" and it will cover way more than his head) smiling like it's the best day in his life, and Derpy's rear end would be sticking out of Celestia's tail, like she tripped and got stuck there.

Pretty much all the characterization we've seen of Celestia is she teaches lessons by putting ponies in the right place at the right time and letting events play out, and that she's bothered with uptightness and being treated like she's different from the other ponies and would rather be having fun than participating in boring social events. So when placed in a boring situation with ponies that also didn't want to be there, it's more likely that she would be arranging for some fun instead of just looking upset and making everyone feel awkward; specially since she would've know the pony responsible for the event would not be showing up anyway.
