I've seen yours, that cutter is awesome. I've been considering using a round insert cutter. Not sure if it would work.

Nice! I've thought about running my 4 insert one with only two to see how it does. The superfly is great, but there are times it seems to "bounce" a bit across the surface. I really think the extra mass of a face mill helps stop that, but on my cheap one, the inserts aren't as perfectly situated, height wise, with each other. I'm thinking that running one.....maybe two inserts would be the way to go for the best finish. Sometimes, I just need the extra inch of diameter of the super fly. :)

That was my thinking too, and it does seem to make a difference but man is it slow.

I tried running really slow..... .0015" per tooth, but found that the wiper seemed more effective with at least .003"pt.

Must be insert geometry. I was running at 001" in this video and it was nice. I need to try some other chiploads and see how it goes. I haven't used this cutter in quite a while, and back when I was using it a lot I never thought in chip load, I only thought in inches per minute.

Mine uses the same insert as the superfly......and I've always assumed they held the insert at the same angle and orientation....but I've never looked. I wonder if they do or if there's a difference?

Dunno, I don't have that one. Mine uses a SEKN which doesn't have a hole in the middle.
