They have great stuff. Accidentally found them years ago. Their great deals are the thread mills.

Good video, nice cut. As for the mist coolant, I have a similar setup. I run mine at 75psi with just enough coolant to create the beading that you mentioned. I love the difference that little $20 import makes!
@russtuff5 жыл бұрын
Right!? I'll try your 75psi too.

I know what that shape is!!! Would love to see the real thing when you machine it! Thanks for the tips on the ebay store, long reach endmils are hard to find.

Those endmill have been fantastic. Not sure yet if I'll share more about this shape :)

Hahahah I know it too. Can't you use 5/16? Get a little more rigidity

looks like the shank of the tool pass the flutes were rubbing, you need to re-leave the shank

It was, but I don't have a setup for grinding car carbide :(

also, you should have ground a relief starting at the top of the threads up a half inch or so to avoid the shank from rubbing!

I use rogue systems Inc stuff. Good stuff and I believe they will entertain custom grinds. I use their small diameter end Mills for my products and you can't beat the cost and they are lasting 5 times longer than most other products I have tried. They have stuff specific for AR trigger pocket machining, which oddly looks alot like your test piece....

I'm glad to hear that you like them too, I've been very happy with their carbide. Some other people have said they feel like this is a familiar pocket too :)

Perfect timing. I've a black anodized paperweight I've been meaning to put a pocket in for the past little while. Just checking, you have seen the Farmcraft101 too-good-for-KZbin series on casting and (manually!) machining a paperweight, right? Too damn good to miss. Also, I'm not sure I've commented on one of your videos before, so in case I'm remiss in saying it: thank you for the series you did a long while back on LinuxCNC. That really helped jumpstart my own project, and I'm now the happy owner of a surprisingly accurate homebrew CNC plasma. (Still improving it, obviously.) If you ever need anything cut, as long as it's not any exceptionally exotic material and it can ship flat rate, let me know and I got you covered.
@russtuff5 жыл бұрын
No I have not, but thanks for the heads up! I'm glad to hear the LinuxCNC stuff was helpful. Thanks for the offer, I'll remember you said that :)

@@russtuffJust a heads up, I've been working on an in-depth series on HAL over the past several weeks, working through practical examples, step by step, on my plasma table. It's a somewhat-obnoxious amount of content (7 videos published, 3 queued up for editing), but the responses are positive so far. If you ever want to blow a Saturday, you might enjoy it, and I'd appreciate any feedback/corrections from your end.
