Yeah mate, it goes alright at the moment. Not sure what tyres they are, they dont look like Tamiya but they are mounted to the original rims👍

Great to see an update already and seeing that Queensland sunshine helped to warm my cold old bones lol. The truck is looking really nice and clean 👌 Those TNX bodies are still available on eBay it's just that the shipping is probably as much as the body, that's if you haven't found a body already.
@korc21573 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, thanks again for watching👍 Yeah it is quite warm up here in QLD at the moment, considering it is still winter for a few more days. I spotted a TNX body on ebay very cheap but the shipping is 3 x the cost🥴 I have a 5.2r body that came with this truck so might have to use that for the time being.🍻

I have two of these in my collection. Both completely restored like new. Like the one in your video. Man these cars are amazing! Now i only need the terra crusher. 🤩

Hi mate, thanks for watching👍 I recently aquired the correct bodyshell for this TNX and have had it out a couple of times now and it is an absolute animal, this thing puts the biggest smile on your face😀 I now have the Mad Bison, Terra Crusher and the TNX 3.0, just need to pull the trigger on the 4th in the series the TNX 5.2. Do you get a chance to run yours at all? Cheers🍻🇦🇺

@@korc2157 yes, from time to time. That 3cc engine has some poke! Hopefully i can upload a video to youtube showing mine soon. One of the two looks like it just came out of the box. Im running a ported FS18SR in that one. I would love to buy a 5.2 too! These TNX's will stay in my collection for a long time. They get rarer and rarer each year. I think if i get rid of them i wont be able to buy them anymore. Soon, a Tamiya Mad spirit will be added to the collection. And then i will start the search for a terra crusher or mad bison. Greetings from The Netherlands!

Really enjoying your content. You mentioned FS engines. Do you mean the Force engines?
@korc21573 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching👍 The FS is referring to the specific Tamiya model, FS engines are side exhaust and FR engines are rear exhaust. Cheers

@@korc2157 Ok, thanks. I've got a Force engine, .18 pullstart, and was wondering if the OS back plate would fit.
@korc21573 жыл бұрын
@@e46s54 No, that backing plate wont fit the force engine. Those engines are completely different.
@e46s543 жыл бұрын
@@korc2157 Do you know what would fit, as I want to do away with the pull start? Just noticed my RB Concepts V12 has the same bolt pattern as the Force engine.
@korc21573 жыл бұрын
@@e46s54 Not sure what would fit that particular engine. The bolt patterns will mostly be the same but the internal part of the backing plate can be greatly different between manufacturers and models. You would have to be pretty lucky to find a match that will work.

I converted mine to 2wd taking weight out in the process. I modified that engine also and upped the pinion gear to 21 i believe (AE clutch / pinion has the same pitch. My truck did around 40mph after that lol .. I reduced much more weight and look forward to upping the pinion gear even more but the project is on hold for now. Those r excellent but fuel guzzling engines. The flaw with the TNX is the header.. its so close to the low speed needle that im sure many of these engines got burned do to lack of full tuning. Im building 2 of them engines.. not stock tho lol
@korc21572 жыл бұрын
Yes, very poor design for not only the TNX but also the vintage OS 15CV-RX powered TGX mk1 kit (my silver R33 GT-R LM version), the low speed needle is obscured by the exhaust manifold on that kit too. The manifold on the TGM02 and TGM03 were not very attractive at all, I think they could have got a little more creative on that one🧐

Hey mate, thanks for watching👍 New TNX sounds like barn find of the year, well done🤟 These big old trucks never disappoint unlike the earlier TGM01 and TGM02 models, altough without them we wouldnt have TGM03 and TGM04😁 Good to see a fellow enthusiast aboard the nostalgic nitro train🚂🚃 Have fun mate. lt’s a powerful force that makes you feel the torque. I think it's difficult to open the accelerator because it slips backwards, so it may be easier to control if you make the differential harder. If there is a sand course nearby, I would love to see it.😆
@korc21573 жыл бұрын
I would love to get out to an offroad track somewhere and give it a good test. Thanks for the tip on the differential👌
