You can have good without evil. You can have life without death. You can have light without dark. I can have a lamp on on in my home during the day, can't I? The light is the light, whether in darkness or alone. If I was immortal, death wouldn't exist. Good is good simply because it is, not because it has something to compare to.

4:51 - Each of our senses makes its own space, but no sense can function in isolation. Visual space is the space of detachment, auditory space is the space of involvement. Touch serves as the interface for the interplay of all senses, which we call our common sense. When we lose "touch" with the audial-tactile, we drop out in order to get in touch; whether it be chemical, psychic, or social. So things are both simple and complex, kinetic and synthetic, kinaesthetic and synaesthetic. Speculators following Alan Watts could easily fall unawares into the auditory bias of field theory as the Greeks leapt into the flatland of abstract visuality and one-way linearity. But if you do decide to apply a single-world function to the entire gig, like the concept of yinyang, that's a totally fine game by me.

One of my mentors always said you gotta take the good with the bad. Imagine you lived a life weighed more towards the perception of "good" but in balance of you're objectively "good" life there is another being that experiences a perceptively "bad" life. However the human mind without the general experience of the other way of life that both individuals could not knowing the latter, precieve their life and experience any which way they so choose. The being living the good life might only dwell on the bad, thus feeling they lived a bad life. The being living the bad life might only cherish the good, thus living a good life. It's all a matter of perspective. You might be caught up trying to get somewhere in life, only seeing adversity, obstruction and discourse. Wherever you think you need to go isn't really where you want to go. You just need to have a good time getting somewhere or finding a new perspectiveof where you are at.

I get the impression that we all must have known this at some point before physical existence was, we somehow have forgotten it, how! who knows? But if what Alan is saying is true, then we are not advancing too well towards discovering the answers, it seems to me that we should be more communicative with one another as a species or entity, rather than leaving the matter to just a privileged few to govern us without insight to understanding, let alone even care about the esotericism of this existence, hence materialism has distracted the world from the true objective of what we should be looking for! So I conclude this... you are looking for me, I am looking for you, we are looking for them, they are looking for us, but until we mean to look, we never will.
