Firing Mike Brown was so premature holy. Trading for a defensive forward and playing Keon Ellis and Devin Carter (when he returns from injury) could’ve been the simple fix they needed.

bro what i thought they should’ve done is just seen how the demar thing worked and if not ‘ see if they could’ve flipped him for some depth that fits ? but idk man shi just went downhill 😭 i did not expect mike brown to just get fired

I hear a lot of people putting faith into Devon Carter like he woulda fixed all the problems this roster has, he wouldn’t even make a dent.

Demar is definitely a 6 man on this team. He doesn't help spacing, but can elevate the second unit and make life easier for Fox and Sabonis
@maximusorbis25482 күн бұрын
Demar shouldn’t be the scape goat but he honestly made this team worse. Every team Derozen is on takes a hit when it comes to three point shooting and pace of play. This is ignoring his biggest issue which is 3 point shooting. If the coach tells you to come off the bench you do it, end of discussion. Also 13-19 is terrible when considering how deep the West is.

He’s always been a 6th man. But cause he was starter in Toronto for so long he feels entitled still

This is the problem with the nba through its entire history we blame the players and the coaches…the owners, gms, front office this is on them…they just wanted to make a splashy move so they got demar…they already had enough offense if everyone was healthy

That roster was flawed from the start, absolutely no defense abd really was never a contender. Kings failed to adequately build around Sabonis & Fox
@manadam76692 күн бұрын
Demar just was a terrible fit and everyone knew it as soon as the signing was announced. The front office is to blame for not knowing how to properly build a competitive team. The team needed more defense, not offense.
@SpeedHomeAttackКүн бұрын
Demar coming off the bench is exactly what the Kings needed. As their whole identity was a fast paced offense with a bunch of spacing. Whereas adding Demar has done nothing but slow down their offense and make their spacing worse. Playing a 6 man role the team would have another bucket getter off the bench. The spacing would be better since he’s not trying to score in the paint or mid range with Sabonis etc etc. Or the Kings could’ve used the money they paid for Demar and got other pieces to build around their core better instead of getting an aging star that doesn’t fit.

I blame the GM for trading for him. DeMar just doesn't fit, especially at his age - turns 36 in August.

DeMar DeRozan isn’t going to be the reason your team sucks but he’s also not gonna be the reason your team is going to be great music good player but he does not fit with this team at all and truthfully, he doesn’t fit with alot teams getting damar is putting the ceiling on your team because he’s going to get his 20 points but it’s gonna be slow methodical mid range and he’s not gonna offer anything on the fence but when your two best players on your team are great at attacking the rimming playmaking, why the fuck would you get a slow iso wing that doesn’t play defense or shoot threes?
@andrebillups40792 күн бұрын
Agree with this just looking at the points doesn’t tell the full story. If Demar shoots his points count for 2 vs a good 3pt shooter putting up 3 so he’s taking shoots from others and with the lack of defense even though they always sucked at defense it amplifies the issue because they can’t keep up or play from behind being a bad 3pt shooting team
@mr.sagittarius_king1612 күн бұрын
Let’s call it for what it is Demar DeRozan is not I repeat is not a winning player. He’s a good player. He can get his stats. He’s great in the mid range, but I’d argue the ball almost sticks when it gets moved to him His Toronto days he was arguably the best player on those Toronto Raptors teams, but they capped out at Eastern conference final appearances since he left Toronto what has he done like I said earlier the ball sticks when it gets to him he’s garbage on defense he’s bad when it comes to spacing and he doesn’t do the greatest job off ball He’s not a winning player n he’s a big reason for the Kings struggles
@isaacdagoat21692 күн бұрын
Two things can be true . Demar does make a team kind of cater to what he does. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but like you said it’s not demars fault that these dudes can’t hit a shot. Not Keegan, not hueter not monk nobody. They can’t shoot for shit that’s not demars fault 🤷🏾♂️

If you only look at the numbers then yeah Patrick Williams looks the same but if you watch the games he is clearly more assertive and aggressive on both ends of the floor with Demar gone

I don’t think Demar is the one to be blamed, the front office should be. Offensively this team is and should be good at scoring at will, but they shouldn’t have traded for another guy to give them just that. They need like you said a wing stopper someone who doesn’t demand the ball as much as Demar does and takes away from their key players Fox and Sabonis. The should’ve targeted Cam Johnson, Deandre Hunter or DFS before he was dealt.
