The term separate the art from the artist is never good - it teaches people that consuming an awful person’s work is okay to do, and therefore continuing to support said person both in terms of money and the algorithm is okay to do. It’s not. My point with my comment is this: As much as we would all love to go back and rewrite time to make wilbur not awful, or to make this song not written by him, or to make this wonderful artist have chosen a different song, we cannot. We can’t turn back the clock. What we can do is learn moving forward not to support the musician, and use this content to support shubble and spread the message of anti-violence. We can appreciate the animation for its art and the time and dedication that went into it, whilst still acknowledging that a different song would’ve been more appropriate if we could turn back the clock, and that could the artist have changed it they probably would’ve.

This was great especially the part showing all his past "loves" he killed (Scar, Mumbo, and BigB) I also liked the part where 3rd life Gri ran into Scar's arms and the Jellie kitters in place of the "kids" song. Lovely job!

thank you!! that running part was actually one of the last things i set in stone for the animatic, the rest i visualized perfectly in my head. probably because that part doesn't really have any lyrics

I like the difference in double life scar being wholesome and wanting grian to love him while in 3rd life he was like “you’re stuck with me, i’m a disease”. I also loved the view of al the different hearts connected. great job!!!

Everyone talks about how Jimmy is the Canary. When he dies in the series everyone realizes how close death really is. Grian is also some kind of harbinger of death. Anyone he’s close to in a series, he ends up taking or causing them to lose their final life in some way.

exactly! that's why i made grian's wings black. he's supposed to be either a crow or a raven, which are often seen as omens of death :) not only that, but he's also the creator of the game, so technically he's indirectly responsible for every death in the series

The song fits him INCREDIBLY WELL. It's actually really suprising, because I've watched this animatic several times before and never realized it. C!Grian and C!Scar click so well in the first life season, but in Double Life things just aren't the same, no matter how hard C!Scar tries to make it seem like that. He's still in love with C!Grian but C!Grian's since fallen out of love, but he still loves the *idea* of C!Scar. That's what it means by "I miss the thought of what we were". It's unavoidable, and this animatic is so good at showing that! Amazing work, very emotional!

I watched this several times because of how beautiful the whole thing was. I had no idea how well Lovejoy songs fit the Life Series until this.. I like the idea of Perfume being with Scott and Jimmy’s whole thing.

The colors seem to mean a lot more than they do at the surface, like how in DL, you show Scar and Grian and green and red respectively, opposites, but in TL they’re the same kind of shade of yellow, that’s super cool and I love your art!!

God this has quickly become one of my favorite Life Series animatics I CANT STOP WATCHING IT!!! So I thought I should leave a comment. I'm so happy to see an animatic that rlly leans into the whole "Grian kills everyone he loves thing" as that's one of my favorite things with him and while there's a lot of fanart exploring that, I haven't seen any animatics that do so. And the way you utilized it here was so perfect!!! My favorite part has to be the bit with Big B near the very end where he pulls his hand away to reveal the injury from Ren getting skewered, I have a weakness for "very injured character looking unnervingly happy" especially when it's used in the way it seems like here where it's almost taunting (an image of Big B haunting Grian, not B himself - that's just my interpretation at least) Your animatics are fantastic and your art style is SO GREAT, I loveeeeee the way you draw Grian w' his eyes especially. Can't wait to see whatever you put out next!! (no pressure)

during the first few seconds, grian has this bit of shine in his eyes and an actual mouth while the rest of the video he only has his eyes, and even the shine is gone. i think this shows that he used to be so carefree before becoming linked to scar. but since scar is so carefree already, grian feels obliged to protect him which means he isnt as happy. not talking as much, letting scar take the lead, etc. basically, grian just isnt happy. he isnt happy being linked or forced to stay with something, which may root back to the Watchers from EVO. either way, grian cant even be happy with bigB because he knows no matter what, he's still linked to SOMEONE.

One thing I really like about this is the part where it’s like “The shyness of waiting for his phone calls” it shows like pizza n stuff THIRD LIFE 🥰 they were gay that season “Replaced by apathy” it shows the spyglass cuz it’s Last Life now, the season where Grian didn’t really interact with Scar much, instead hanging with the southerners “And dating apps” a cookie cuz it’s double life now, and having a secret soulmate is definitely like a dating thing lol.

I don't know how to say this other than this is so visceral to me. I've watched it so many times, and the only way I can describe my feelings about this is visceral. Like the part where Scar is on top of Grian is so viscerally uncomfortable to me (I'm aroace), but like it still works extremely well and actually pulls me into it more, and to sum this all up, good job.

i was waiting for someone to point that out !!! he intentionally doesn't have a mouth or a nose (aside from the very first frame of him, before he starts really thinking) and he doesn't actually speak at any part of this animatic. he's just wallowing in his thoughts, letting them consume him. his eyes are the literal window to his soul and to the truth. it all we're seeing, nothing else is conveyed aside from that. and also, it is a reference to his minecraft skin! :) because i think it's cute

I like to imagine that grian is the only one that remembers any of the previous live series, and grian was stuck in a unhealthy Stockholm syndrome relationship with scar due to guilt during 3rd life. Then when he was paired with scar in double life, and scar didn’t even seem to try not to get hurt and was a kinda bad soulmate he ‘cheated’ on scar because he kept remembering what had happened in 3rd life.
