Well, since I do live here in the land of "gopher mounds" I can attest to the fact that your are still correct. Its so easy in a tree stand to just draw on an angle, but when you actually practice it and you do indeed hit high, you have to remind yourself to bend at the hips

I was told that angle compensating range finders will get you close to the correct distance you need to shoot at. For the range finder to be bang on it would need to know what speed your arrow is coming off the bow at and how much it weighs. Apparently there are range finders coming out that you can enter this data into and get much more accurate numbers.

Respectfully disagree. George Ryals and Dave Cousins recommend bending at the hips and lining up your shoulders with the target Before you draw your bow. For more info you can watch George Ryals' seminar from the most recent ATA Show which is posted on his youtube channel (Edit) The point of bending at the hips before you draw rather than after is it is more consistent with balance and posture.
@InsideOutPrecision
@InsideOutPrecision 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I can see how that would work, but regardless you're bending at the hips so that your anchor doesn't change. I haven't personally tried that but George and Dave certainly know what they're talking about. Seems difficult to get to full draw once already bent over though.
@sgtcaboose5407
@sgtcaboose5407 4 жыл бұрын
@@InsideOutPrecision It's actually not as difficult as it may seem. I've shot both methods, and I prefer the Cousin's method because you feel more balanced and stable. I recommend watch George's seminar, he does a much better job explaining than I do. Also I really like your channel. This wasn't meant to come off as mean spirited, just a civil disagreement of ideas.

My 2c is always draw level then bend at hips as described. I injured my shoulder last year drawing downhill. The distance to get into the valley was longer and the bow jumped as it didn't lock off where I expected it to. Won't be doing that again!

Just an observation, but if you angle your hips first you don’t have to draw flat and then tilt at the hips. As long as your tilting your hips it won’t matter which comes first.
@InsideOutPrecision
@InsideOutPrecision 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah that works well too. For me, its hard to draw when bending over downhill though.

Thanks again for great info. There IS a question at the end but just wanted to say that over here on the east coast, in northern GA, there’s nothing remotely flat where I live and hunt. It’s creek bottom to ridge top with topography being one of the biggest factors I deal with. I came from hunting south Florida 3’ below sea level so yeah, flat. I took the pointers from Paige pierce that she uses at Redding for side hill shots and it’s great when you bubble over the right amount to get in the middle. Is there anything you could add to that topic of how much to cant and how to get it right on you’re first shot not the second? Lol thanks brotha!

Can you please help me? I got a 2019 Hoyt nitrux it was left over I got in March so it's only been 4 months I probably should 300 to 500 shots a week I've had timing go out 4 times an peep rotation it was the fuse string that came stock I use the truball HT hybrid and truball sweet spot pro flex I love shooting l live in Lancaster PA an live 12 min away from Lancaster archery they told me the string is shot and basically made it like I shoot so much that it's my fault my first bow was a 2020 bear paradox an had all these problems with string as well but that was because there was a burr in in one cams so I thought by spending 850$ on a bow and got the qad hdx rest that I'd be ok I really like your videos I think it be great to shoot with you do stock strings just suck??? If I get a gas ghost string or abb would I not have theses problems I don't care what string looks like I just wasn't a reliable product that can handle alot of shooting I generally shoot 3 to 5 arrows an take a pic each time to keep track of number of shots in a session an to keep track of progress I wish you were close bye so I could check out your shop anyway my # is 7174060293 if u can text or respond on here I'd really appreciate my name is Bryan take care and thanks one more question I like back wall to be firm can I replace the stock stops with ones the are just aluminum with out the area on stock that has the rubber to protect the string or are the Bowmar ones that are flat a better choice?
@InsideOutPrecision
@InsideOutPrecision 4 жыл бұрын
So long story short, yes, the stock strings on hoyt are garbage. Get a set of GAS Ghost XV's and you won't see any stretch. As far as the stops go, you won't really feel much difference by taking off the rubber piece, but the bate aluminum will chew through the serving on your cables really fast. The Bowmar stops would be a good choice.
