I cast on a Mobius cowl yesterday using the Cat Bordhi method. I wish I had seen this before. I'm not doing the patterning on this one. Maybe on the next one. I will definitely try this cast on for the next one. Thank you.

These are excellent instructions. I’ve made a garter stitch moebius before, in Madelinetosh merino light and I love it. Pretty sure I used a different CO, though. Instructions called for a 40 in. or 47 in. circular. What are the limitations regarding needle length and number of stitches? I’m excited to try using the Turkish CO you demonstrate in your video - it seems easier. Thanks for sharing 😊

Ultimately, the length you're knitting around is twice the cast on length. For example, if you cast on 100 sts, your Möbius ends up being 200 sts around. But remember when you're choosing a needle, you need to think about the length as a measurement related to your sts gauge. I find it's easiest to knit and move my stitches around the cord if my needle is slightly shorter (4-8 inches) than the twice the cast on length.

Does the slip knot count as one of your cast on stitches?

You only count stitches that are on your needle. So no the slip not doesn't count, but the first wrap over the needle counts.

Excellent clear instructions - thank you! 👏🥰. How long is the completed mobius?

The pattern is about 41 inches around the center if you are knitting at the recommended gauge. However the pattern can be easily adapted to make it shorter or longer.

Cool, but I’ll have to watch multiple times before I “get it”

That's ok. Take your time and don't panic if it takes a couple attempts to make it work. You got this!
