In his 70's he said that he has no idea where those lyrics came from... he said it was the wellspring of creativity, and that the words just came. He also said it was a short season that he was able to draw from that wellspring, and once it was done he could never write songs that deep again.

Yeah, the word genius is tossed around so that when it's used to describe an actual genius it loses some of it's mojo. A genius is a word that shouldn't be confused with star or celebrity, even talented. In my opinion Dylan is the real thing.

The life of this song will never end... In a few hundred years from now this song will still be relevant perhaps more than it is relevant today and the day he wrote it. Dylans music never seems to be dated. His writing has a conscience of its own that will live on way after he dies and or when we die. What's interesting is that some music fan (probably the last of a dying breed) in the year 2200 will hear this an his mind will be blown at how relevant this song is even for his time. Then again who knows, music might be considered "obsolete" (for lack of a better word) by then

@@erikparker3051 Hip Hop is not rap music. I said nothing about Hip Hop. Learn to read words please before you blindly reply to something. Still.. rap and hip hop will never require the talent needed to make music with actual instruments. Hip Hop is marginally better than rap, true. The only 2 genres in the entire music industry that dont require you to play a single instrument.. Most rappers dont even know how to play the damn drums. A truly sad fact. A human toddler can make words ryme. Your not a musician if you can simply make words ryme. You probably think lil Wayne is an amazing guitar player?

@@erikparker3051 Unfortunately for myself. I have met several rappers in the industry. I ask them 2 questions. First I ask if they think they are a musician. They all say yes. Then I ask what instruments they know how to play. Over 90% dont know how to play a damn thing. Musicians are people that take the time and have the integrity to learn how to properly play an instrument. Its probably just hard to find time to learn an instrument in between beating woman and smoking crack. I get it. How can you claim to be a musician if you dont know how to play or write music!!?!?!?!
@erikparker30515 жыл бұрын
@@buff3dn3rf26 I see your point. Maybe it's comparing apples to oranges. I think there is a lot of talent involved with quality lyricism combined with the producing of complex and catchy rhythms/beats, etc. Same goes for good electronic music. Check out Tipper when you get a chance. You don't have to physically play an instrument these days to produce amazing music. And no, I don't think Lil Wayne is talented. In general, the more famous any musical artist is these days, the less talented they are, because they're propped up by a music industry that wants to create un-thought-provoking garbage for the masses. +eddy67 You are partly right. Dylan knew that nothing good comes from romanticizing, but the hippies weren't wrong in their ideas, only wrong in the way they tried to accomplish it. The problem today is that people would rather ignore and live in ignorant bliss instead of tackling the problems head on, we know all to well power and control is unevenly distributed, but yet we do nothing.

" I'm not God. Get up off our knees." (John Lennon) Jerry Rubin came on the Johnny Carson show one night dressed in a black judge's robe. At center stage he took the robe off and tore it, threw it on the floor and stomped on it, then walked over and took a seat. Carson turned to Jerry and calmly asked, "Do you think that's going to change anything?" Jerry replied, " We're not going to make the changes. We're showing the situation to politicize it. The next generation will make the changes." Today women are all over the work place. The digital age has happened. (Steve Jobs took LSD a few times) Global warming is being recognized and things are beginning to move. African American is a President. Police authority is being questioned. Bernie Sanders almost made it and would have but for a concerted effort to stop him by the DNC and the media. Unfortunately we still have a USA uber alles, attitude but even that is being questioned. There's no single "plan." Peple are waking uyp and doing what they know needs to be done. Eddy, who said anything about "Hippies?" You know where that term came from? People would be in a room or standing in a circle passing joints around, rapping what they knew. Sometimes profound and the reply showing comprehension often was, "I'm hip man." The media got hold of it and ran it. Last I heard it was W. Bush who invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, not any so-called "Hippie." Don't know of any "Hippie" who spied on all the people or tortures folks, or commits mass shootings. I stumbled across this bootleg and I was miserable earlier. I'm in a nursing home (I'm 49 with 90 year old lungs , emphasema) in Miami. Not only Miami but Hialeah which is the Spanish section of the City/County. I don't speak Spanish and nobody speaks English (with a few exceptions) including my roommate who's TV is ALWAYS on. I was miserable not due to my health but the language barrier and I can't have a conversation with anyone. I can communicate enough to not go thirsty but I'm talking about the art of conversation, or even just a chat but I feel like a spectator, I intend to be transferred but for now anyway I'm stuck in this place. I've always loved words and I thought about Dylan and found this bootleg which I played after hearing a couple versions. From the presong laughter to the postsong checking to see if he was in tune I really thought this was a great find. Hearing a bootleg is like listening to a secret. Only a select few are let in on this stolen piece of history. Begs those questions about how someone came by it. Did they smuggle a tape recorder into the show and try to keep it hidden from the authorities? Very clear footage, maybe a high quality mic was involved? It's shrouded in mystery, especially before you hear it. Will it be an unusual take? Will it be a studio take, live, just hangin' out when it was captured? I started this comment feeling alright and then someone came in, and completely took me out of my own little world and immersed me in reality. Now I'm gonna' try and get back to where I was. Thanks for the footage man, I really like the artwork too, I wonder if it's a straight up portrait, or one of those part portrait, part photograph. Either way it's very good. 🎟️🎶🎶🎵☮️🙏

Wilco killed it, jacket was good, and dylan was awful. He's getting too old to understand haha. I love his 60s stuff the most cause he wasn't so hated by people. Hate can turn the best musician into a tired sad shell of a person. Really sad but his Dylan's message still ring true to this day. And I love him for that.
