The actors who play Dennis, Mac, and Charlie are writers on the show, so they usually know what is coming. There IS one episode in season 6 where Rob and Charlie had come up with an idea for something that Dennis would do, and Glenn/Dennis tells a story about it later on a different podcast. It's definitely a top episode of that season. Also, they that Danny Devito is a really good sport about it when they ask him to do things.

It's funny that Charlie and Mac met on a flight to LA where they were auditioning for the same role, and neither of them got it, so they were like "Fuck it, we'll make our own show." And that's why Sunny exists
