It's one of the more subtle gags from this season. The joke is set up so perfectly and so nonchalantly. Because you don't even realize it's a setup. You're too focused on Mac being an idiot and laughing at that, so then when Frank makes that comment it punches you right in the gut. I still don't understand how this show is so well written by these guys

It doesn't even matter if they believe you, you're the one in possession of the drugs and you will be arrested and charged. Police lie to suspects about evidence all the time to get false confessions, you think they'll actually care about where you got the drugs? No, they'll charge you, you will have been in possession of the drugs when you turn them over, and you'll just end up on the news as some idiot that got themselves arrested by turning in their own drugs.
