One of my absolute favorite things about this show is the shared vernacular the gang has that goes completely unexplained, while still being totally understandable to viewers AND playing to great comedic effect... "paying tribute" being probably the best example. Pounding off, "move past it," hanging dong, "popping off" various articles of clothing - so many great phrases

My favourite episode of the entire show for sure. Bottle episodes, when pulled off well, are always the absolute best for character dynamics and these pairing are so good. And a huge credit to Kaitlin Olsen for being able to be so funny as Dee alone. The Mac and Charlie stare is so iconic and god bless the waiter.

Man I love going back and watching the series because I'm so vindicated at loving season 7 and 8 when it was airing. I remember people hating these episodes and talking about how it's all about season 2,3, and 4 way back in the day. Season 8 is just incredible!

In a way, I kind of understand Dee's nervousness this episode. I've dined out by myself before, and it's nice, but when I happen to see people I know there, especially if they're part of a group, I do feel a bit of that insecurity. I know the other person won't care, but the feeling pops up regardless. But I feel like the Gang would absolutely rip on Dee for eating by herself if they had noticed, so her paranoia isn't entirely unfounded, imo.

Honestly that "no you fool" from Dennis is prolly one of his most reasonable outbursts in the entire show. First Mac thinks the "compliment" was for the vet; then he starts like he's about to say "now can we go back to complimenting me"; but then his dumb a$$ says "can we get back to the karaoke". The second he says the word karaoke I imagine Dennis' psyche imploding to a red-tinted tunnel vision, and honestly I'm like slay king

Dude... that's almost LITERALLY what got me into the show! I remember when It's Always Sunny first aired. I saw ads for it, didn't pay it any mind. I STILL remember sitting at my desk... tv was playing in the background. I hear an ad for S2 of the show, which was going to be starting. You know how ads like that will feature quotes from critics like "laugh-out-loud funny" or "best new show of the summer"... things like that? I hear "one critic says, it's like Seinfeld on crack". My radar IMMEDIATELY pinged! S2 hadn't started, so I binged S1. Instantly hooked. Funniest show of all time! 🤘😎🤘

The pace of this episode lags, IMO. A lot of people love it, but I find it rather meh. This is also around the time Sunny starts leaning too hard into the needy, pathetic Mac shtick. It was good for some great laughs in earlier episodes, so the writers start relying on it too much and tire it out.
