On top of that there is a lot of improve that can happen in the moment and there's no way to see it coming. A good example of that is the little improv moan Dennis did with massaging Charlie that made Mac break character.

Probably the least discussed thing about this epic series is the strength of its side characters: Uncle Jack, the moms, Ponderosa, Cricket, McPoyles---all incredible; they really build on the big five main characters. They are not the stars of the show, and time is money. If they are the ones holding up takes with laughing, they might be written out of the show. And 2. They are professionals with more acting experience than the younger actors, and they know that once you start corpsing, the harder it is to stop.
