When you try the ship dupe glitch, which ship's name does it display in finalizing window? If it anyways shows the newest ship's name, that's how you can see if the dupe worked, without leaving the builder, and doing all your modifications in one go. But who knows, better not freaking risk it with this stupidass ancient engine.

Thanks for the comment. When you dupe the ship, you will not see the name until you stop the editing process, and then you'll see if the name has changed and that you have actually duplicated the ship.
