You did a fine job. I have the same Version 3 and ended up removing the retracts since i fly off a semi rough grass field so mine glides even further. Set up safe for hand launching, happy with how it flies with a 3200 4S but had to put 1.5 oz in nose for weight and balance. Neat looking aircraft for sure.

How about using an ESC with reverse to slow it down on landings or perhaps add some Flaps

Nice flight. I didn't think it leapt into the air badly, I've seen much worse and with small wheels and uneven ground it might be a bit of a lottery getting a perfect take off as if a bump kicks it to positive AoA at flying speed it will leap through no fault of the pilot. Regarding the landing, I'm not sure if it's so much a case of using a bit of throttle to increase fan drag as to get the plane settled with excess kinetic energy bled off and the plane sitting (as you've said) at a higher alpha where the drag curve is kicking in. Ive got the little F86 and that one is especially fussy as the swept wing will more easily tip stall if you overcook the high alpha approach. But that's the fun of models - you don't get killed learning to do tricky stuff 😆👍 p s look at youtube clips of pilots trying to land the F100 Super Sabre to see how it can go badly wrong with swept wings 😬

Looks great, flies great! Would it be hard to rip out the fan and put in a 12-blade unit? Mine’s sitting in the wardrobe waiting to be built …

And they still have the retracts wrong. The main gear should be retracting outwards and not inwards. When will Hobbyking decide to do some research and get it right? Apart from a new camo scheme it's the same as the first one, of which I have. I can't fault it's flying and yes, it does float on a bit when landing. This is where it needs flaps and possibly speed brakes as in the full size. It should also have working rudders as well. It does leave a bit to be desired, sadly.

I have a problem with the way you fly you supposed to land into the wind not with a tail with no wonder you can't hit the ground where you want
@EssentialRC2 күн бұрын
Oh dear. Intention would always be to land into wind. Might have got it wrong but unlikely. This jet is known to glide well.
@williamdelashmutt79352 күн бұрын
@EssentialRC but the problem is if you are landing with the wind it's going to glide farther
@EssentialRC2 күн бұрын
@@williamdelashmutt7935 Yes, yes and that is kinda obvious...but even landing into wind it glides. Well known fact with this model.
