This set looks nice but I think everyone can agree $90 is way too much when there are better alternatives. It's disappointing that Lego is asking for that much on a set that, while looks decent, you aren't getting as much as you could. I'd probably buy this for $30-$40 at most.

Picked this up on clearance at Target for half off, and I'm glad I waited cause the set really shouldn't have been more than that from the start. I do think it's a pretty nice one in general and I'm glad to have it considering how much I enjoyed the movie, so much more worth it for $45 instead

Fair point, but just as lego's problem is, price. Ain't no way i'm spending 90 dollarinos on this set, what more for a custom minifigure. I get the detail and craftsmanship goes into that but i just can't justify that when lego can make cmf figs for $5 selling price I know i know lego mass produces them which is cheaper overall but still

Mark Stafford’s designer comments for this set on Brickset seem to support you theory here. That this set got redesigned after the film was pushed back. I’m willing to bet that this was a larger version of whatever the Hooptey originally looked like and got downscaled. We might have another Football Table situation. And the shot of the partial disassemble shot for the back of is weird. That is a tactic Lego does use, but it’s usually for the big Modulars for the website to sell it, not on the box.

I actually like this set. I was able to pre-order it for £60 because I have lots of insider points. But I love the look of it and the minifigures are great. Really, we should've gotten the villain of the film since we haven't received any phase 5 villain yet.

Ship looks really dumb, minifigures don't have leg printings, which is a shame because the interior of the ship is great. I used to not be bothered by having no leg printing, but they do printed legs so commonly now that it just feels like something is missing when they don't, even when the character being depicted wears plain trousers. Feels like the legs have been swapped in from another figure. It's especially jarring in the same set as figures that do have printed legs.

I wouldn't compare this to that No Way Home set as that set is still quite expensive for its size; I'd compare this to other ship based types of sets. Specifically the Galaxy Explorer, Inquisitor Transport Scythe and Avengers Quinjet; all three of them are significantly larger, with significantly more pieces, with at least one more figure, and they only cost $10 more. Or even less as they've had discounts at some point. Which totally kills this set's value outright; definitely not a bad set, but shouldn't be more than $50 at the very best. Even worse, the Imperial Armoured Marauder set from 2021 is very similar in size with around the same interior volume and had one more figure and it cost $40 at the time (or around half the Hoopty's retail price with inflation).

How does the weight of plastic compare to the Spidey set? I agree that this looks like a terrible value for the price, but I think price per gram would give us a much better idea than price per piece. Also 3 figs for $90 seems really poor. You get 2 in a Ninjago polybag for $5.

It’s very odd how Lego has designed okay looking sets for wakanda forever & the marvels but price is inflated by a 100% markup. Maybe they assume that the sets won’t sell well to begin with so they might as well make as much money on the product as they can. And then retailers will clearance them out at a loss of almost 50% off, at the price it should’ve been to begin with

Why Lego are charging that much for this set makes no sense. As for Ms Marvel, they should have compromised and decided to do 18 characters for series 2 of the cmf to make up for not being able to feel the figures. This would have reduced the number of duplicates and could have allowed Ms Marvel, Secret Invasion and Loki season 2 to feature. Ms Marvel from her show, Red Dagger, Khonshu, Mobius, Nick Fury and Gravik were all missed opportunities, especially when several of the slots were given to Xmen and What If season 2 which aren't even out yet. The fact they skipped Ms Marvel in the CMF should have been because her outfit from the show was for this set, but it's not even the same outfit. Really weird they skipped her show.

I’m getting really really aggravated that a lot of these new Marvel sets are missing their villains. The Guardians of The Galaxy 3 sets and now this one. They literally already made an Accuser minifigure almost a decade ago and you’re telling me that in this one set from the movie we’re not even given all our key characters. I mean let’s face it A: The villain is pretty bland so they’re either gonna die or never come back after this film so this WAS our one chance to get it. B: The price tag would have made more sense with more minifigures C: I love the villains in the sets and this is getting annoying at this point. HELL EVEN THE NO WAY HOME SET WAS MISSING LIZARD!!! And unless they make an exclusive big fig for him like in an Oscorp Set later on down the road that set was most likely our one chance to get him. Come ON lego you’ve been dropping the ball waaay to much lately.

this set alone is a sign that confirms 2023 has become one of if not The weakest year for Lego Marvel!!! sure we got the awesome NWH set, but everything else was mostly disapointing, where we bearly got any new characters for the first time in lego outside of wave 2 of the CMF, especially for the villains only getting Morbius and Agetha Harkness and the CMF wave 2 ended up being the first wave to be in the most disaterous design of boxes Lego put out yet! plus it dosent help either that Marvel Studios itself has been (and still is) going throught it's most difficult (and probably it's darkest) era in its history!!! (frankly between the release of Doctor Strange MoM to present day so far)
