This would be so much fun as a base for Idoneth. Having the blue tint to everything would really push that "underwater" feel. Maybe contrast that with rusty metal and lots of colourful coral and shells on the bases for a real "tropical shipwreck" look.

I love that you, Peachy, and others are doing paints through a paint company that look really useful. Caveat for me is I won't order a thing unless it comes through my LGS (I mean, that is where I play, and bypassing them is bad business, imo), but hopefully they'll get some Color Forge in. Whenever I see speed painting tutorials, I ALWAYS think it would look better with a blue toned primer rather than over a simple greytone. Glad that you've thought of that too :)

Colour Forge or Citadel are my go to even when halfords and B&Q primers were cheaper. They just always gave me better coverage and texture after drying.

This might be useful for some Frostgrave terrain. Pure blue for the icy or stone bits, and as the base layer of "slap chop" for all the other colors. Would really underscore the cold nature of the city.

I think that it would be an effective choice for someone wanting to do a kind of coloured lighting effect. If the model is primed all over in a darker, warm colour (say, Orange, or brown, or black, or possibly a deep red) then the spray is used over the top to represent either a zenithal or directional light source, then maybe a dry brush of white, you could do something like you demonstrated on the Ork but with more dramatic lighting. Would be really good for something that you want to read as being in a cold environment.

Midwinter Ice is GREAT as a basecoat for Nighthaunt. Drybrush up to ulthuan grey and then a spot highlight of white, and a coat of black Templar contrast over the top cloak afterwards and BAM. That's a done ghost!

Spray can primers are good if you're starting and don't use/have an airbrush. I've used it for some time. However, after some time, started to use primer with the airbrush, as that gives a much better control of the paint your applying. So, if your primer gets available for airbrush, I'm in! I'd use it for the flesh part of my tyranids army. P.S. you can buy printable decals sheets... you have transparent and white. just print on them (laser printer!), pass by the water to release the decal, and apply it to your model. I've been using them for years for custom models... also used them for several of my armies...
