My husband did the same thing a few years ago. A plate and 14 screws and 5 compressions fractures in his back. He's 63 now and still is a demon on the trails! His doctor said it isn't a matter of if it would happen, it's a matter of when. Mountain and road biking isn't a joke! Happy Healing! It's a painful process!

Prayers coming your way Greg from Ohio. JJ, accidents happen to everyone and you should NOT feel this accident was your fault! Just Love and help your Dad as best as You can. 🤗😇🙏🏻👏😎❣️ When I was about 11 years old, I am now old enough to be your Dad Greg, I crashed my bicycle too... I shattered the tip of my collarbone.

I had the exact same surgery done when I was 17 after a back walk over with very wrong I have three plates and eight screws my bone was sticking out it was almost considered a compound open fracture.I still can feel it and you can see where the scar is the one thing I noticed that is in the summertime sometimes it gets really hot if you’re not careful or in the winter can get really cold the metal also depending on where you go I set off grocery stores and a process that off the airport security so might be a good idea to tell them that you have that when you go through.Good luck on your recovery ice machine is a very good thing to get and definitely you’re gonna want to be in a recliner for a long time laying down will hurt.Welcome to the metal in collarbone club. Bones of steel.

Wow, I know that is a very painful ordeal to go through! Hope Greg heals fast and has no more pain. (Though the healing and recovery hurts, I’m wishing you great results once through that part) Life with lots of boys! Yikes, I’d have be in full anxiety mode.

It seems like when moms are away someone gets hurt or kids are rough and things in the house get broken. I am glad Greg is okay.

I'm having sympathy pains for Greg... I've had a broken collar bone before from a car accident. It is very painful. Mine didn't heal properly either. I didn't have surgery though.

Speedy recovery!!! Why do these things happen when moms gone? I went home to England a few years ago. I was gone 1 week. In that week my daughter broke her arm, the hamster died and my other daughter had stitches… why??

Yup, turn your head one minute and it happens! I knew my husband was being careless and company was coming so I went to wash up and wouldn’t you know it… a knock on the door and “ I think I have to go to the hospital “… the chainsaw bucked and hit his shoulder luckily not his neck…
