It's Chris Whitley Wednesday! Episode 3: Terra Incognita

On the latest edition of It's Chris Whitley Wednesday!, I discuss Chris Whitley's third album, Terra Incognita (1997). Chris Whitley (1960-2005) was a singer/songwriter from Houston, Texas who recorded for various record labels from 1991 through 2005. Although blues was his foundation, he was a restless spirit whose albums spanned a variety of genres. This weekly series is a celebration of his wonderful catalog of music that I have enjoyed and cherished since 1991.

Thanks Ernesto! Chris has a lot to offer and I believe you'll really dig his music. Now after this, Chris goes the independent route and he has full creative control so he's going in a lot of directions. Terra Incognita is quite good and its best songs are so strong. Man, someone has to cover "Weightless". I can hear Jason Isbell, master songwriter that he already is, covering this and his fans loving it! Cheers!

I still love the fact that you’re marching to the beat of your own heart - and drummer - and differentiating yourself from almost every KZbin channel that we groove to and dig. Update! I dig the Oyster album. In hearing this now, I do recall hearing "Walk This World". I like this a lot. Now Crispin Hellion Glover? Well, this is interesting. I would need more listens with this. Cheers!

I came across a seller on Discogs selling this one and a few other CDs of his for under 5 bucks each. They’re still on the way. Din of Ecstasy sounded really good on vinyl by the way.
