I dare say NOBODY has ever attempted to acquire,and restore a warbird to flight in barley 5 months.Much less organize it and operate an airline at the same time. This is the epitome of an aviation love affair. I'd say These are more than aviation fans......THIS is the Canadian version of the INCREDIBLES!!!!

The most anticipated viewing on the net (for me at least) by far ! . Thank you to all of you who are working so very hard to make this all possible. . Its great to see companies (through their employees) pitching in with their own time voluntarily, together with the generosity of ENA, its staff and students and all of the PLANE SAVERS crew (both on site and behind the scenes) and of course, the Intrepid Volunteers, I feel proud to be in aviation and to share in this spirit of community. . Going to watch the old episodes once more after, may be I'll raise a few more cents for the cause by viewing all of the Ads. . Off to release the "Pause button" and enjoy the rest of this fantastic episode. . (it is exceeding my expectations and I'm only a third of the way into it). . Merci, Merci.

ps - no fuel in the tanks while in the hangar ! ... LOL ... I know you already know that. Congratulations Fred and Pierre, your troubleshooting skills are exemplary. . Stella is meeting her objective, she is going to be the first person in our time to paint the complete livery on a war bird by hand. Great to see Jay on the team. Benjamin is getting great experience (add a pilot's license as well and you'll join the ranks of the 'aviation triple threat'). Happy to see Bobby getting a bit of a rest, he's been burning the candle at both ends and its time to allow those amazing batteries to recharge. . pps - if the aileron lever arm was damaged, I'm sure Ronnie and Jay will now want all of the pulley brackets and basically the whole flight controls system to be thoroughly inspected as well. . Great stuff, great progress being made !

Stella is doing a fantasic job with the paint and I'm really pleased to see that she's bringing back the 'Canada white' as Jay called it. I have done electrical work on car, trucks, motorhome and transit busses. I can feel their relief when they finally solve a nagging problem. Working without proper schematics just makes it so much harder
@DougHanchard5 жыл бұрын
Even with schematics, chasing down each wire is required. There could be corrosion, cuts, shorts, etc. So each wire is ringed, checked for ohm resistance in addition to checking relays, fusible links and terminal points. The scale of the work is daunting in itself. And like they have stated, over the years, wires and components have been changed or bypassed or removed. The avionics team has to be perfect or things can go wrong in a hurry on a 75 year old airplane. Have a nice flight!

Trick for rescuing long unused Bowden cables and other push pull cables; If they have a water/oil proof sheath you can tape one end of the sheath into a powerful shopvac hose and immerse the other end into light lubricant. By and by the suction will pull the lube through. I've rescued some mighty rough/stuck cables this way.
