Kyle, as a 71 year old in another country, I completely agree with you. The older generation of politicians should be nurturing and mentoring younger generations with a view to having them replace them sooner rather than later, instead of undermining them, as has been the case with AOC. When AOC first came on my radar, I marked her as one to watch, along with Jasmine Crockett. There are so many younger stars in the Democratic firmament who should be encouraged. Still love Bernie, though!
@GlutenEruption9 күн бұрын
100%. For whatever reason though, their generation has been more selfish and entitled and power and wealth hungry than any generation before or since. And not just in Congress and not just in America. They refuse to retire, step aside, pass the reins of power or control, let go of land or property or wealth, etc to younger generations everywhere - in politics, in corporate hierarchies, in the job market, in academia, in housing and land, etc etc. They have always wanted more more more and even beyond refusing to let any of it go, instead of at the very least helping the next generations achieve what they already have, they actively pull up the ladder behind them since the harder, rarer, more expensive, more exclusive their property, power, degrees, job titles are, the more valuable they become. It's as if ruthless capitalism took on human form and infected an entire generation. Of course there's plenty of good ones in that generation too but they are almost never the ones at the top or in positions where it matters unfortunately
@mash24819 күн бұрын
Bernie is the only legit one in there. AOC and Crockett are more worried about sound bites than what legislation they can pass. Bernie should be President right now if everyone here voted for their best interests. But noooo! Bunch of us apparently are more worried about “owning the Libs”.

I wonder if Pelosi is somehow spooked that Ocasio-Cortez 001's votes might cut into Pelosi's profits somehow. If Ocasio-Cortez 001 proposed the ban on Congressional stock trading, one would think Pelosi wouldn't want to draw that kind of suspicion upon herself.

The problem is that an 80-something POS Speaker from Calif. denied that younger generation last week an opportunity to utilize their idea's-instead derailing their chance by pushing some other 80-something num-nuts with a heart condition over AOC. So let's be clear, distilled, and pick the battle: this is a 1) job competency issue as it relates to mental rigor - physical accommodations can be provided to a degree that they assist and don't impede the essential function of the job, 2) a systemic cover-up issue by bodies of power at the expense of the electorate, and 3) a f*** Mitch McConnell issue because he's a terrible representative, all of which I wholeheartedly agree.
