We were 18 and 20 when we married and bought a very very old home. It was so overgrown with brush that the only way you could get in the house was the front door. 30 family and friends and just people stopping by in our small town to see what was happening joined in to clear the brush - trees - bricks - an old car- tore down an old shed that was dangerous. Burned so much junk (The police stopped by and asked to not burn any more than the pile we were burning! Ha! we kept it small but burned all day) They left an apple tree and a row of bushes new the road. It was done in ONE day! I still feel humbled and grateful to all of those people back in 1970. I praise God that you are experiencing that same love from your friends. So excited for your family.. This is going to be a great homestead! I can feel your excitement and I know you can do it! Love your little boys. We had 3 boys and 1 daughter and the blessings I keep receiving from them in incredible!

Community like this is what homesteading is all about. Since I have really been diving deep into the world of homesteading, permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and the connected areas, I have realized that the community is very tight knit. This is part of the reason why we are starting the path to getting out of the city and out in the sticks, the culture of suburbia is a downward spiral. Seeing everyone come together to help demo the house is just proof that as long as you are a good person GREAT things will happen. All of the people that showed up are amazing people, and would no doubt drop what they are doing to help a friend, and we need more of that in this world. I strive to have such great friendships and community surrounding myself.

When you go back with sheetrock understand that the mobile is not made to support 1/2" sheetrock weight. Only use 3/8" or 1/4". Siding: you have masonite siding. YOU can use L.P. siding DON'T USE HARDY BOARD "WEIGHT". Mobile homes are not built to add weight. Are design for a set amount only. The external walls are not well supported. I was in the mobile home moving & repair business for years. If you need to talk about them I will help any way I can. Can't help in person live in Texas also two strokes. If you need advice drop me a line.

You need to check your drop from weight from the fame to outside walls. YOU may need to add blocking to outside edge of home. If you have a metal roof never use silicone calking it is an acid based WILL EAT through metal of roof may take 3 to 5 years but it will. Don't belive me put a bead on window glass wait 18 to 24 mo's you will see a frosting of glass from acid. Many people LISSION to home builder's they know a lot but mobile's are a different bread of cat. Some thing's are the same but not all. I grew up working on house's. After my father was disabled with cancer. STARTED working on mobiles the man I worked for learned from a man who had been in the business for 30 + YEAR'S. When I worked for him he had been doing mobiles for 18 years. I WORKED ON MOBILES for 20 + years. I have nothing to gain from BS- ING you if you don't belive me DON'T. Good luck.

For with the measure that you are measuring out, they will measure out to you in return.” You've been givers. The "no questions ask/without reserve" givers. And now you'll be the receivers. What goes around comes around and what a blessing it is when a community of friends, old and new, come together to help each other out. They all did an amazing job on the house and yards and the food looks amazing. The scriptures say "What we have been blessed with by God we should be a blessing to for others." And, "Who ever brings blessings will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered. In your journey to find your homestead you have jumped in and helped so many people and this just goes to show how much you all mean to so many. Now it is your turn to accept help from others. I know how humbling it is to receive help from others when you would rather give and I have had to learn to accept it with grace and a full heart and not to rob someone of the joy to help you for all you have done for them. Doc Grannie's helps: Planning and design is easy with the following tools: Lay out rooms with painter's tape. This gives you eye-feedback and a feel for the actual space [size and shape], and the tape is easy to change. This also works for laying out hanging cabinets. Make a drawing to go in your Project Binder. Make paper [or cardboard] patterns of things which will take up floor space e.g., washer & dryer. Thus you will see how things will fit together [note door swings] AND be able to make sure traffic lanes will work with ease. Write the name and measurements in BIG letters on the patterns. Photos are a help.

Doc Grannie's color nail down trick Pick a "color-key" for each room. A color-key is an item [shirt, vase, figurine, picture, etc.] which you like the colors of. Then when you have to face the 2000 colors at the paint or carpet store, you wip out your color-key, and KNOW immediately what will and not work in that room. Keep the color-keys along with other samples of things to match in a box [I like file boxes], and you are loaded to shoot down perfect colors for your home.

How very special to have so many friends like these. This is the way you do it, people. With joy and love in your hearts working together to help you all take that next step to reclaim your forever homestead. Art & Bri, Justin & Rebekah, Jason & Lorraine, Mike & Lacie, Stacey, all the kids and others coming out to pitch in and kick this redo up a big notch! I can't imagine how this feels to your heart!!! However the only thing I don't understand is... Why did you get rid of the gold bathroom sink??? Ha! Ha! At least it wasn't avacado green! Lol! Just joshin you! That color is definitely from the 70's. I'm so happy to see this happen for you guys. Hurry! I can't wait for the next video!!! God Bless All Of You!😊❤🙏🙏🙏
