He's not played great up until this moment in time, so at this moment in time, would it be a good moment in time to transfer? However, I don't think, at this moment in time, many teams would take him. The sad thing is he doesn't have many moments in time left, so at this moment in time, he needs to prove he can be a consistent player and not just good at certain moments in time

As a United fan since the 1980s I am at the point where I truly believe only relegation would actually wake up the ownership and those who run the club enough to get rid of the deadweight at the club and drastically change it from top to bottom. United make enough money from tv deals and sponsorship where it doesn’t matter if we come 14th as the money keeps rolling in. Only a relegation would actually dent their pockets enough to change the club.

The blowouts happen when a blowout is unexpected. The 7-0 happened because MU attempted to man mark and press. One way to play is for Man Utd to defend deep, frustrate Liverpool, and then hit Liverpool on the counter attack. But I cannot see Amorim play like that as that is not his style - so it will be more like a 3-4-3 formation which then I would fear for a Man Utd hammering as they do not have the players good enough to play that formation.
@velouris764 күн бұрын
Thing is, in the Fergie era, yes, Man Utd were brilliant playing that way, possibly one of the greatest sides in the last 20/30 years at doing this…(i.e. defending deep, and hitting the opponent on the counter, at the right moment) Problem is, does this Man Utd team have the players, discipline and tactical savvy to do this???…I really don’t think so… Stranger things have happened though…

People in these comments are mostly reactionary, solely reacting to moments and missing the bigger picture. This doesn't rehabilitate Ten Hag in ANY way. Ten Hag brought in half of this pathetic squad from Ajax, these are literally his players, and he did it also after INEOS took over, so he literally had a big influence over transfers, because this is the change INEOS was supposed to bring, and did - clear power structure, and scounting department consulting with the coach. So Ten Hag is at fault for this as well. Amoroim just STARTED! You gave time to TH, you must give it to Amorim! But the ironic thing is all these things discussed is exactly what Cristiano was talking about in Morgan's interview, and he was hated for speaking the truth! Go and come back to this interview, if you don't remember & see Cristiano talked about it all: the lack of modern sports technology and training facilities at the club, poor culture and mentality all around the club, lazy youngsters, the fact that Glazers don't care, chaotic management! He said it all, and he was hated for speaking FACTS! With Ten Hag and CR, it was a different story and so bad, because it was personal, and people forget about it! it was so so bad with Ten Hag because it was personal, CR talked abt it too. Ten Hag didn't believe CR that his daughter was ill in the hospital& treated him badly when CR was grieving his son! We had an experienced leader & elite striker - Cristiano - and we scapegoated him, together with toxic media, blamed him for every single mistake this club has made for over a decade, then pushed him out! Cristiano returned because Ferguson called him and begged him, and Cristiano loved Alex too much to refuse, so he returned because yes, he loved United! It's obvious he listened to his heart not a reason! But instead of giving him help, some on the board expected that the almost 40-year-old veteran would fix every single flaw and issue at the club! And btw, Cristiano really gave his all, at his old, veteran age - he literally is the last United player, to this day, who scored a hat trick for us, and a free kick, you can check if you don't believe me. Yet I remember fans complaining 'why Ronaldo always takes free-kicks'. Welp, since he has gone, not one other United player scored a free kick, even tho they keep trying, and there are many of them who played with Cristiano, in that old squad, plus many new younger talents who are supposed to score goals like this now, in their prime, yet they don't! Where is the Cristiano hate now, hm? The irony is also, that if you rewatch the matches with Cristiano, even in CR's second season, Ronaldo was actually the one tracking back sometimes, while the young ones, 10 - 13 years younger than Cristiano, were doing nothing, just standing in one place or strolling. Yet Cristiano alone was constantly blamed for 'not tracking back', I remember this very well, and I have receipts! This is the general problem with the dispute about CR, I noticed it years ago: people don't really pay attention to what he does on the pitch & blindly judge him based on their prejudices against him! He still gave it all he had, but it was obvious that at this age Cristiano wouldn't be able to help much, the mess is just too big. Veterans like this just don't go to teams/clubs under total rebuild, they are too old for that!

Who hired Ten Hag and gave him the freedom to use all that money though? Who? A proper football club have a decent setup with a sporting director and a chief scout, that plan years ahead. 1) It wasn't Ten Hags first priority to buy Antony for 70m. Don't tell me that. It was out of desperation. 2) Even if it WAS Ten Hags first priority any decent board would not let that deal happen. Same as buying a injury-prone Varane and a 30 year old Casemiro on huge wages. The list goes on and on from manager to manager. It needs to start with the higher-ups. They set the tone, they should plan ahead, they should have a vision and strategy for the football club.

@ComradeOgilvy19843 күн бұрын
Exactly. Losing 2-0 or 4-0 or 6-0 at Anfield is just 3 points on the table that was never going to be theirs. Amorim has to start putting points on the table. MU has 22 now and needs 40 to achieve reasonable safety from relegation. They need to find 18 points from the 18 fixtures after they lose at Anfield. Every other manager in the league is eyeing MU and thinking they can bag 3 points, even at Old Trafford. Losing to Ipswich and/or Leicester could unleash in a tidal wave of consequences that will come in a 9 figure financial hit. Sure, Amorim may surprise us by parking the bus. But playing an open game with a team in poor form against Liverpool is suicide.

Not really. They still need another 15 to 18 points to ensure they don't get relegated and right now, they must be wondering where the wins are coming from. Draws are not enough when you are in that position. They have just lost three successive league games without scoring a goal and have lost 3 home successive home games to teams they would normally expect to beat. The defence is awful and they can't score goals; a very bad combination when you are sitting just 7 points above the relegation zone, team morale looks shot and the teams just below you are picking up points.

The only thing United can hope for is that the next few weeks United are playing 1 game a week and have a weeks training to prepare for the games against Liverpool and Arsenal in the cup. Amorim has spoken on how he hasn’t had time to work on the training ground because it’s been 3 games a week. Now he has some time to work on it. Let’s see if there’s any difference
@versioncity15 күн бұрын
if they were playing a mid table club then maybe, but liverpool are on fire. it's about not being humiliated, rather than not being beaten.
@G-fd5ug5 күн бұрын
@ I don’t mean as in that training time will win them the games against Liverpool and arsenal, I mean as in to give the team a better idea of what he wants, maybe give a decent performance in each game, but more so to help improve performances later in the month and beyond

Bingo. Too many blessed SAF alums influencing the headspace creates a climate where OGS being offered a long term contract is somehow acceptable. Neville, Keane, etc. -- these guys help make MU worse. Mates helping mates. Amorim ain't anyone's mate at Sky, so the knives will come out for him quickly, starting with a lot of terrible advice that only an idiot would listen to.
