What brilliant use of things you already had on hand! Ingenuity at it's finest. I was wondering if the door areas will flood and get really muddy since they are dug in.

Very interesting video. I've also been breeding rabbits for years (for meat and manure) in "traditional" cages, but now I kinda feel "guilty" and I really wanna shift to enclosure breeding for ethical and practical reasons (seems easier to maintain and cooler in summer heat). But 'til now they're each one in its own cage, you've made the choice to separate the buck with the does and the kittens, I was considering letting all of them free. Is it dangerous for them to be with the buck everyday ? does it harass the females and attack the babies ? Are these the reasons for the segragated buck/does system ? Many thanks in advance.

Good evening! I know you mean about wanting to give them the most ethical/practical housing! I know some people keep the buck with the does. Surprisingly, I've heard that the greater danger is for the buck than the does or kits! The does can actually castrate the male with a well-aimed bite! The only reason I know of to segregate them is to have a say in when they breed so you can plan when they kindle. I hope that helps!
