Easy to lift up with bottom propulsion. Without that it would be harder ofc. Under a certain depth it would be risky to try. And body position and conpliance makes a big difference. Here the saved person collaborated but some people freak out and those it’s just better not to try and save so both don’t drown.

If you know how to do it, breastroke kick has enough power to get you up and going, also you would probably have air in your lungs so you would be more bouyant
@Richard-iv4zm4 ай бұрын
You don't need the push off from the bottom, breast stroke legs are more than enough, human body is mainly water therefore is nuturally boyant, as for people freaking out when rescued, sorry mate, if they're on the bottom they'll be in no condition to struggle, not even slightly, because of they're on the bottom they're already drowned..
@pedroclaro78224 ай бұрын
@@Richard-iv4zm you have a good point about people being in the bottom of the pool. As for human buoyancy, you’re wrong. It has nothing to do with our bodily composition being mostly water, but about fat and air. Fat is buoyant, and so is the air in our lungs. The fatter the easier it is to float. The less fat and more muscle, the harder it is. And if you expel air out of your lungs you’ll sink. And least I sink, because despite having a little excess fat I have a lot of muscle and dense bones.

The upward force on your body is equal in magnitude to the weight of fluid displaced by the volume your body occupies in the fluid (Archimedes principle) thus as water becomes denser the deeper you go, your apparent weight becomes lighter; you are displacing a greater amount of fluid and the vector sum of force due to gravity and buoyamt force is your apparent weight.

@jasonpeng5798Ай бұрын
@@yonasbekele9810basically he’s saying the buoyant force (force that makes you float) is equal to the weight of the water you displace. Since water is denser at deeper depths, for the same volume, a person will displace a greater weight of water than a person at the surface. Therefore the deeper a person is the easier it is to lift them.
@ionicafardefricaАй бұрын
in real life situations, the people you are trying to save aren't as compliant. To make the test a bit more realistic, instruct the person on the bottom to elbow you in the face, to trash their arms wildly, and finally to grip you tightly and try to step on you to get closer to the surface. As a final touch, both of you need to be blindfolded, the water needs to have a strong current that randomly changes direction every 30 seconds and the bottom needs to be soft, slippery, with potential sharp branches and garbage you can get tangled on.
