I’m new to learning Irish. This conversation was encouraging.

Well done Marian for trying but with the accent it's hard to understand. I wonder is it not only the language but the accent has to be Irish sounding in order for people to understand what one is saying? Maybe I need to train my ear to your accent first and then go back and listen again. Thanks for this ❤ You have had a very interesting career it's lovely to hear about it 😊😊😊

I recognized a word, Sassenach! But only because of Outlander. I haven't even started learning, though. I have thought about it a lot, since a lot of my ancestry is Irish (I'm a USian).
