If taking hormones makes the people with it feel better than I don't think we should stop them if they are over the age of consent (which Jessica is). As a former psychiatric nurse, life throws enough at us. If we accept that nature is nature: a boy has chromosomes XY and female XX (a few anomalies due physical & genetic) If an adult wants to transition BE IT AT THEIR EXPENSE for surgery & continued medication that is entirely their choice. But this should NEVER NEVER be acceptable in any shape or form on a child, ie under 18. The idea of better success the younger 'treatments'' start, a XY (male) will never menstruate or have a child. Why would a MAN think that wining in sport is an achievement - it's an embarrassment! when it obviously by his build and size he isn't a woman. Trying to make the abnormal acceptable, doesn't make it normal. I`ve heard there is only one team of surgeons who regularly do `bottom surgery` in the UK. There`s very little demand for it. Because the UK hasn`t really fallen for plastic surgery in a big way, we haven`t developed the US level of gender reassignment surgery. They have things like `nullification`; for patients who want the appearance of no genitals at all, and a scientist was caught asking the question why should male genitals look as they are...why can`t they look like flowers?
