Change it to HE160 on the 5GHZ radio and 40 on the 2.4GHZ radio and you will achieve faster speeds. Also set the transmit speed to High. I did on my udm pro/U6-LR and i was getting slightly over 1gbps on my 1.2 gb connection.
@SpaceRexWill2 жыл бұрын
While that does get you better speeds when you are close to the AP and don’t have many access points around it will increase the overall noise meaning that you can get a hard performance dip if you are further away or near other access points.
@michaeloconnor77702 жыл бұрын
@@SpaceRexWill I haven’t tested that far away, but I only have 1 AP and no bad performance dip so far. I will have to try again when I get back and see some real performance metrics. I was just amazed I got that over WiFi. Unifi FTW!!

Gotta agree with Rex here. I've tried them all and at least in my environment 80 and Auto gets me pretty stellar, and consistent, speeds. I just played around with 160 and High and the speeds can be quite amazing. I just did two runs at 1.1Gbps+ down and 300Mpbs up on my 1Gbps ISP connection. Either some brief over provisioning or Wifiman is off a bit. Anyhoo, on 80 and Auto I consistently get between 600-800Mpbs no problem. With 160 and High the speeds range between 600Mpbs and 1.1Gbps. A lot more variability.

I have an LG TV right next to my U6 Pro and it still latches onto the Mesh 6 about 90% of the time which has to go through a few walls. The U6 Pro is using a DFS channel which may be the reason why.

I'm testing a 6E AP and can't get it to connect to my 6E tablet (2.4 and 5 bands work just fine). The tablet works with another brand 6E AP. Can anyone report success in getting a 6E client to talk to the Unifi 6E AP?

how you getting such a high speed does it also matter how much you pay your ISP? or is it just the Ubiquiti accest point itself that gives you such a high speed? i wanted to know because in my country you'll probably pay over $3000+ to get such a speed

Hi Will, what is your current setup to achieve that speed? I'm running the access pro 6 directly to the first port of the UDM-SE and i never get more than 300mbps. Do you think i need to have another switch, like the enterprise poe switch connected to the UDM-SE 10gbs port? my internet connection is ATT fiber 2gbs up and down

At about the 4:00 minute mark, you go into unit conversion, bits & bytes. You have slight inaccuracy in your conversion. Network bandwidth is actually measured in megabits, where a megabit is 1,000,000 bits (power of base 10). Not to be confused with a mebibit of 1, 048,576 bits (power of base2). You can think of network bandwidth the same way as hard drives, the drive itself is measured in GigaBytes, but the filesystem over top uses GibiBytes... Same thing for networks. So tl;dr you need to have an extra step, the formula goes like this... To determine the number of MeBiBytes per second on a GigaBit network: '10^9 / 2^20 / 8' = 119 MebiBytes per second. Hope that helps. 😎

Most OS’s (including disk speed test used) report hard drives / data transfer / file sizes in MB not MiB. It just ends up being which unit you are looking at.

A few points on this video: this is a prosumer access point, not a gaming router. To compare this to one of those “weird looking” devices is like comparing apples to oranges. Not only do they perform different functions, but the WAY WiFi is distributed is different. This AP is designed for high density load, not point to point maximum speed. Next, the U6 Mesh, discussed but not shown, has identical “meshing” capabilities as this AP. The name is irrelevant. And it’s every bit as fast as the Pro. Jeez, I’m only 6 minutes in. To those watching, I strongly suggest you watch reviews by Crosstalk Solutions and/or Lawrence systems.
@SpaceRexWill2 жыл бұрын
The antenna gain pattern as well as antenna position between the new mesh and the ceiling mounted AP’s make a huge difference in performance. The fact that this is designed for the ceiling means that they can broadcast the energy in a known pattern meaning they can use their limited energy much better then the mesh that just broadcast in all directions. Then the further spacing between the antennas radially means that they have more accuracy when performing beam steering. Both are good AP’s but it’s important to use the right tool for the job
@pkapner2 жыл бұрын
@@SpaceRexWill The Mesh (name only, I prefer to think of it as the "soda can") does have a a broader antenna pattern, which is something I definitely take advantage of. It's much better suited for two of my use cases. I'm calling out, however, that the difference between the "Flex" and the "Mesh" (meaning AC and AX) versions aren't really that one can mesh and the other can't.
