@8:00 , you noticed pipe was a bit low, so you will put shims under, please try to rotate pipe so pipe seam is not down but up, that will prevent smoke oil from dripping inside, since it is not a watertight seam, only spot welds, and since bell mouth has 2 holders (L brackets) that are not dead center, maybe you will also raise the pipe a bit so no shims will be needed. try it and you will see. I have same pipe in BH viper + K102. cheers and happy maiden.

Thanks bro much appreciated. Temperatures are getting pretty cold north of the border, and I'm going to be flying off grass for the maiden, so it's not looking too good for this season regrettably. Don't want to be flying with frozen fingers on a maiden. We even had some freezing rain in the suburbs of Toronto where I live today...totally sucks 😕!

You are going to like it. Mine flies so well at the given throws and cg. Actually, I have triple rates and my mid rate ail was the best setting so that setting is now my low rate. I also fly mine with a Xicoy X90 off grass and i think it's the perfect combo. I really don't think it needs a 120 to fly scale, and I ruled it out because the pipe looked small.
@ghoustanable Жыл бұрын
I know the 120 is overkill, but I did test the pipe and everything several times, and everything was fine. It produced 12 kilos of thrust as per manufacturer specs with safe temperatures. That said, I thought the book throws just didn't seem like it's enough, and I was a little concerned about that. I was curious as to what your throws look like in millimeters on all your surfaces.

Sounds good. how is the quality on the stock landing gear and retracts that comes with the kit?
@ghoustanable Жыл бұрын
@olekristianfollstad5913 it's not bad you do, however, have to do some minor modifications to the axle pins. If you look under my playlist in the channel for the black horse l-39, everything's fully explained. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was the second update that I did in the build series.

@@ghoustanable I did not have to make any changes to my landing gear. They seem to be holding up well.

@@HornetFlyer @HornetFlyer that's fantastic. I know some guys that were reporting that the C clip that holds the wheel axle shaft could get the sloshed with a lot of pressure or if you come down on the wheel awkwardly. See the clip below. No, I'll be flying in from a grass field, and it's winter up here, so it's going to take some time for the field to be ready. It's probably late spring to early summer, but I'm in no rush. I still have a Viper that I need to build as well.
@DennisBacon-y5o Жыл бұрын
Hey man, what did you do to fix the intake problem? You posted a video earlier where it did not line up correctly.
@ghoustanable Жыл бұрын
Didn't do anything to fix it left it exactly the way it was. The plane flies perfectly fine. Just make sure that you glue it down well and you won't have any problems. Additionally, place close attention to the horns on the elevators and make sure that they're glued in properly and actually glued against some ribbing in the elevators. Cheers

Is the pipe big enough for the 120 seems a bit small (if so you risk the pipe colapsing)
@thomasfluckiger750 Жыл бұрын
If its to small i recommend putting in a bigger pipe easy fix😉
@ghoustanable Жыл бұрын
@thomasfluckiger750 I thought about that, so I tested it several times. This setup also held full throttle for 6 minutes until it ran out of fuel with no overheating. The temperatures on the outside wall of the pipe, which was about 225 degrees. Maximum thrust was 12 kg as per manufacturer specs as measured on JP hobby thrust stand. I also didn't see any hot spots as measured by thermal temperature gun. See link below for the setup on the test run. Cheers, and thanks for watching and your comments. Thoughts? kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXO5kqimrZyppdksi=fr9cc_qxccQSXDR7

@@ghoustanable you have to go with the turbine manufacturers recommendation, they give you the measurement for the smallest thrust tube diameter that is suitable for the engine. I wouldn’t go below that recommandation
