Awe me too. Guess it depends on taste and what you like for personal design. I hv never liked the ultra modern super empty look. I am more or a more is better antique lives in home. That has been collected through time these newer renovations don’t have a warm cozy feeling.

The before kitchen was much better. The addition of fireplace was only thing needing updating and perhaps bigger pantry but now living room and pantry look smaller

The house was beautiful before but I absolutely loved their renovations! I would have changed it to the same style as she did tbh. The details were top notch. I guess everyone is different but that's the beauty of this life we all have our individual tastes, ideas, personalities etc.

Lovely home but I loved the original in many ways better than the renovation. The kitchen was prettier before the remodel.

I feel like they got the same reaction from people when they renovated their previous homes too. Many people preferred the before better than after the Renos. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We are currently renovating our kitchen and I loved the “before” pics of your kitchen so much that I took a snapshot. It looks so bright and airy. To each their own. I can’t imagine the costs of all these renovations. I wish I could do my entire house too

LOVE IT!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥 My number one favorite thing is THE LIGHTING!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍 Such a VIIIIIBE!!!! If I could summarize the reno in few words it would be organic, luxe & zen. I could feel the energy of the space through the phone and it was so relaxing! Almost like a resort feel. Glad you all can start enjoying your home soon!!! So true! It's like telling someone who bought a Mercedes that they really didn't NEED the Mercedes because a Toyota Corolla would've taken them to the same places. And while that's true, the Mercedes is what they wanted. Most of what we've obtained in life isn't a need, a lot of it would fall under desires. If the purchaser is happy; it hasn't put them in debt, and they've worked honestly to obtain it, who cares if it didn't NEED to be renovated. The house was clearly perfect, but maybe it wasn't perfect for them. I absolutely love it too!

So pretty Alex! I know you and Michael really wanted to add your touches to the house. Although it was beautiful before, it was something that would appeal to the masses! The only thing I would add is adding some sort of detail to the blank wall on the left of the kitchen. Before with that shelf insert it added something there! And then potentially swapping the top cabinet doors for glass to allow for a more airy look and sconces above the shelves to add some finishing touches!

It’s so interesting the comments of people liking the before better. When it comes to renovations and your own personal home it’s all about the HOMEOWNERS personal taste. The house could be beautiful but not your taste. I totally understand the renovation. It’s not 100% my style but I can appreciate you guys making your house your own and making it as functional as possible for your family.
