After two years and seven months of restoring and rebuilding our steel boat, we are finally getting ready to move to the water. Well, almost. We have a ton of projects to finish before that happens and they aren't going to be quick or each either.

‘Tinning’ also prepares to cable for soldering. Even if you are fitting crimped terminals to the cable, it is still best practice to solder the cable into a solid mass where the crimped fitting will be.

Engineering and Construction is an emotionless job. Leave your emotions at home or they will overly complicate the process. having to deal with drama only will make things more complicated and ruin productivity. When you start refitting a boat you're going to find a lot of hidden things that need to be replaced. That's the nature of having a boat

@@daomingjin rebuilding your home, upheaving your entire life, career and dreams to rebuild that home are not emotionless. The emotion has nothing to do with the tasks at hand and everything to do with the implications due to those things being attached to our home. If we could do that without being invested emotionally I honestly wouldn’t want to be around us. There is nothing wrong with having heart and caring about your own life. There is also nothing wrong with having your heart broken and choosing to continue to rebuild your life regardless

The number of steel sailboats compared to GRP is infinitesimal because production hulled boats are cheaper to build and they are prettier. Therefore the community of steel boat owners on KZbin is also small. You two are the model for steel boat enthusiasts, along with Emerald Steel. Researching the web, it appears to me that there is no perfect boat, just choices of what you need to maintain; because there will always be maintenance. Just pick your poison. Me, I chose steel, Bruce Robert’s origami type design, built by pros and welding teachers. I feel safer in steel. I feel more confident, and less anxious sailing a steel hull. For me, the key word in “Fibreglass, is glass. Sailing a crystal glass hull, avoiding rocks, trees, boats, and jetty’s, all of which are trying to sink you. Steel please.
