What is Horizon: Survival Mode Expanded?
Horizon is a large scale overhaul of Fallout 4 that rebalances and expands the gameplay from the ground up. It contains thousands of changes, redesigned systems, and new additions to very carefully balance everything together. The goal of this mod is to create a more challenging and immersive experience.
Horizon adds new difficulties and challenges to Fallout 4 survival mode, which ultimately makes it a much more immersive experience. Difficulty can be selected during mod installation and increases incoming damage on the player. Desolation mode adds another layer of difficulty.

My favorite alternate start location is the swamps at the bottom of the map. Makes it feel like you're some rando that trudged north to the Commonwealth, and you kick off the game in very hostile territory with very few options for surviving.

I have never finished with survival, may try again and again until I can do it. Mine favorite is being the neighbor who knew Nate and Nora, got switched during a maintenance problem. For me I can head play Cudworth being confused because it's been 200+ years and he's a little rusted. But also like the swamp and stranded on the island.

I actually agree with the immersion vs time saving point. I tried the Immersive Interaction Animations mod and while initially cool, it got tedious to have to wait for the animation to loot stuff… especially when there were dozens of bodies.

The radroaches didn't randomly despawn. They poof away the moment you pick up the Pip-Boy.

Weird. The radroach in the water below the bridge always stays for me, and then comes to attack me after I activate the vault door. I'm not sure if the others would have despawned if I didn't kill them, but I always kill every radroach for the EXP.

I bought the game 3 years ago and am at about 420 hours playtime. - I am stil checking really EVERY nook and cranny for lost places and weird stories once in a while. - I really really love this game and actually am trying to avoid to end it. - I am weird, but the game is weird as well. 🤣🤣🤣

I had over 400 hrs on playing this with the dlcs grinded for everything not played it in years ,went to start playing it again the other day and deleted my saves by accident 🙈 gutted I’m back to the start

I started playing FO4 in June 2019....never played any of the prequels. I now have over 10,000 hours - you read that right, ten-thousand hours - in the game and have never, ever come close to completing it, because quality mods such as Horizon just keep adding to the experience. (I'm retired, so can play when I feel like it...which is often! 🙂) I've been around computer games since 1986 (both as a player and a dev) and this is the most enjoyable game I have ever played. It still gives me great satisfaction today.

@@hcrun If you haven't already, you need to play the mod Chaotic Sun. There is no other mod that even comes close to its artistry and technical mastery. The experience of that mod is unlike anything else available for the Fallout franchise. When I play Fallout 4, my only purpose is to build a team that is capable of surviving the brutal world of Chaotic Sun. Personally, I would not start the mod below level 80. Just be mindful that it has nothing at all to do with Fallout lore.

Small tip - When you exit the vault, look towards Sanctuary then go to your right, through the chain link fence and up the hill where there is usually some water resource on a table at what appears to be a location where someone sat and observed the vault entrance.

Thanks for the video - as others have mentioned the roaches despawn when you take the pipboy, and the magazine you get in the vault - I think in the overseer quarters. Also, there are new items all over the place in the vault - including on the sides in the generator room. thanks for the video.

I remember on older games especially fallout tactics you used first aid kits to recover health and heal certain injuries but could only do so to a point when you became bandaged then you had to use a surgical kit to heal fully

You might need to Field kit to fix the buff widgets in Global Options, Hud addon options, uninstalling and installing them again helped fixed an issue i had.

Scrapall can, depending on your mods, mess up ground textures and make building back up very difficult. And ofc it scraps the crafting stations, which again depending on mods or lack thereof you can't get back without significant Cha investment. I'm filthy casual tho, so I just cheat to get the stations back lol

The only issue I ever had with scrap all in horizon is that items like gas cans and such that are randomized upon picking them up on how much or what you get out of it, they would go into my inventory or the workshops inventory instead as they were. Then I would need to take them out and drop those and manually pick that back up to get the material contained within. That will 100% occur more often in 1.9 I believe as I think Zaw was adding more items using this randomized system.

I assume your ability to use VATS before getting the PipBoy is part of the mod. Eight ads before you got out of the vault. Oh joy. Almost as good as the TV in olden times. I was able to run to the fridge for a soft drink while one was playing. This is my first view of a Horizons play-thru. Looking good so far. I hope part 2 is up. I feel like I can't wait. (Like I have a choice in the matter.)

Btw, not telling you what to do, but I personally have no complaints if you: 1 go as fast as you want, craft as long as you want, skip reading notes, etc. 2 loot of screen 3 travel off-screen 4 use exploits. They're game features by this point These are usually the things that come up in every playthrough.

One problem with scrapall is that it can snatch up stuff in proximity of but not actually in the settlement. The other potential issue is accidentally having extra object selection enabled in F4SE. Bad, bad mistake, especially in a settlement with interior cells. You may have figured this out already but field harvesting/salvaging is now a serious risk. Make sure you absolutely not in combat/caution.

I use that start mod and don't have an issue opening the pod. Just aim directly at the red switch on the panel. Also, I play on Xbox, so it might have another effect. Because on mine the bathroom door isn't closed after character creation.

Rewatching the intro, it's funny how they make a big deal about the fallout universe's primitive computers, where a device as big as the pip boy only has "38,911 bytes" after OS. Yet they can make robots like codsworth with entire personalities and free will. What are their thoughts stored on? Magic?
