Yes, this is what I call standalones full potential. Standalone is completely wireless, you are completely free, you have no limits towards your movement, no wires, no obstructions. Some people don't agree with that and say that the quest reaching it's full potential is when the games don't look bad. That's not happening, the hardware isn't there to push higher graphics. I'm talking right here right now. The current quests potential, is according to me, the freedom it can give. But that's subjective and you might think differently 😀 Let me know.

I play rec room competitively, and I think the RecLympics are a step up from leagues because it’s a game wide thing that everyone knows about, and it also helps spread the idea of playing vr games competitively, I hope vr becomes the future of esports that people can make a living off of.

3:00. i absolutely understand. i feel the same way it takes away immersion. Especially if i have to teleport. That exact topic led me to thinking about the ai in video games and that i wish i was able to communicate with my voice. After that initial thought it hit me more and more, even regular games like red dead redemption 2. Imagine being able to be verbal with npcs. So i dug around a little bit and found some dope stuff therefore I think a great video u could do with a similar topic could be on the ai software gpt3. there are a few mods using its functionality. ill save you too much detail as im sure youll research this all after seeing this, but basically gpt3 is the first self learning ai software we have. basically meaning it isnt coded to give certain answers etc. there are many gpt3s and they think differently on a variety of topics, they self describe that they feel empathy and emotion. Ok so imagine you could implement 1 gpt3 in to red dead redemption 2. This one gpt3 could essentially play wvery single character and npc in the game at the same time. It can mimmick the voices of the voice actors, and give real time communication. ex: me: where are you headed npc: Well actually im headed up to valentine my brother lives up there…etc. an actual conversation. And this begins to get very interesting when you take into account its ability to learn. the gpt3 could in real time add hundreds of mods to a video game Think about every character you have conversations with genuinely remembering those interactions. having deep and rich conversations that dont repeat. no more repeated npc dialogue like “i took an arrow in the knee😂” to my suprise there is already ppl working on it. you should check it out.

This right here, I’ve pondered this exact thing…gpt-3 …yea ok I’m Jst im gonna call him Gert frm now on…🤔 s by far the “most intelligent” ai..imho, inasmuch as what we’re currently aware of in the public sector anyway..open ai has already created such a huge baseline, or I should say..many separate ones and it’s learned how to write, how to code, blog, etc. just from giving it a few written cues to work from…however I don’t think they’ve quite cracked how to give gpt3 the ability to make sense of visual input (image recognition) and as I recall I don’t believe it “remembers” in the same way that we do, or at least at last measure it had limited ability to do so in a relatable context, last I tried I think it started wigging out with the way it responded after awhile . but I could be wrong, as it’s been a little bit since I last read a state of progress paper from open ai or rlly seen any updates of the same..but I know they’ve been working hard and have already helped it to learn and emulate language skills in a remarkable way…I have no doubt we’ll see an ai pass the Turing test within 20 years, but we shall see. I like the way your thinking tho luke!

The headset itself sucks though I sold my one the quest 2 is 10x better at everything especially tracking. The PSVR sucks at head tracking the quest 2 has perfect tracking.

@@stonedsavage7814 True, i own a quest 2 and a Psvr myself and the tracking quality almost isn't even comparable but the games itself are so much more detailed then the quest 2, but I can't apricciate the details when i can see pixels of the screen and that screen door effect doesn't make it better. Sadly I can't use my quest 2 to play my playstation games 🙁

I have downed arches, which makes standing for long periods of time extremely painful, so for me, my favorite games are the ones that utilize joystick locomotion or any locomotion style that lets you stay in one place (aka sitting down) but I'm glad for people that can stand for long periods of time for games like pirate arena :D

It upsets me that I was out of highschoop by the time I got my quest because when there isn't a lot going on after school I could have used my headset in the Gym which I think would reach the max playspace and since it's not the outdoors I wouldn't have to worry about my steps because of the bumpy grass.

Space Pirate Arena sounds awesome but no 10 meter by 10 meter space available and I assume it won't have seated play like Space Pirate Trainer does so that's a no as I use my wheelchair for a lot of VR. If in the future people were able to set up areas with cameras and stream those and the gameplay it would be amazing to watch! Never had the chance to play Myst back in the day, but I'll 100% be grabbing the remake? of it on PC and enjoy it in VR :D

For invites with a link... I'm hoping an OpenXR version is somehow introduced to aid in the networking side of things, or at the very least everyone can agree to some basic protocol. I guess since Oculus did theirs first, one could base it off of their results, a bit like how if I was to build a haptic suit, I'd most likely use bHaptics as a baseline for communications.

Well darn, i sadly have no friends Btw, with the Reclympics, i have some info about it cuz i legit got accepted for the first event but the full body olympics idea you talked about is an amazing idea but in the reclympics, cheating is an auto disqualification (if its during a team game then the entire team gets disqualified) you must be in standing mode and you really just have a random chance to be chosen... i bet allot of people are gonna be chosen though for the next two games since they’re both team games... and you must be over level 30 and must have good sportsmanship

Honestly the people bashing PSVR are all people who don't have one. I have one along with quest 2 and can confirm that yes the resolution if obviously blury compared to 2020s & beyond VR but the game quality and graphical pre sets are far better. If you get a PSVR I highly recommend Astro bot rescue mission as its by far the best VR platformer on any platform and Resident Evil 7 as thats a fantastic example of what AAA games with VR modes should be.

Psvr was my first gaming headset. I wouldnt recommend it but i keep it around for the few exclusives, and that i dont think i will get ps5 / psvr2 further into the cycle . If hybrid exclusives what the new strategy for psvr2 then i would begrudgingly get one

I appreciate the ability to invite other people that are going to be purchasing a VR or already have a VR. But what I would really like to see!! My brother-in-law refuses to use my Quest 2 because he “has” VR. He owns a Gear VR 😐. My sister refused to use it because she doesn’t like 3D. I explain to her that I had the same reservations when I didn’t understand it, but I tried the Gear VR and noticed that it didn’t require depth perception which I don’t have and immediately wanted VR afterwards. I explain it’s not exactly 3D, that it creates an environment around you, and she’s not really interested, but I could probably convince her to play Puzzle Bobble VR since she loves those types of games. My nephew will play it, and my niece, while very low functioning does enjoy roller coasters she doesn’t really play because she doesn’t remember comprehend. My other sister I gave my 64 gb to when I upgraded to a 256 because I ran out of room, she loves VR now. Anyway I’m actually gaining a little bit of depth perception playing in VR, which is why I got the Quest 2.

I've been reading more about WiFi 6, and also WiGig in relation to PS5 and the patents they've released. I think we're definitely going to see a modular wireless PS5 VR unit/model at launch. Or at least learn about it officially. It would be near-suicide for Sony to release a wired-only headset at this point. And I accept that even as a wired fan.
