80-90 can dollars for each team. FYI you got those upgrades frames in the older kill team boxes. So not really the deal ppl think it is. I did a full breakdown of each kill team in this wave and most of them you need 2 or more boxes which doubles the price. Keep that in mind

yes i'm aware the old starters/expansions came with the upgrade frames, but because they are no longer available to purchase, i'm not sure how thats relevant. the point of my comment was to differentiate the difference between basic 40k boxes, and kill team boxes. some coming with extra tokens, others coming with tokens, and an extra sprue. very important for people that are not familiar with the contents or exactly what makes one team more expensive than others.

the starter box is reasonably priced, as far as GW goes. I'm considering picking it up just for the death guard heroes since they've been hard to get.

I'm a new beginner and I'm not sure if I should pick up this kill team starter set or the ultimate starter set? Does anyone have any suggestions?

so its 2 different games. depending if you want to get into big 40k, or skirmish kill team, determines which set you should buy. kill team starter is a great entry product, to skirmish wargames. its only 14 models, will only take about an hour or two to get set up, and start playing. the ultimate starter set, is great for getting into warhammer in general, and big 40k. it will require a lot more time to assemble, and learn, but the reward is substantially bigger. i'd recommend warhammer 40k, ultimate starter set, as its much more popular, and you get a lot more for your money.

@@WarHammerMan thanks for the reply! And yeah I've seen some combat patrol battle reports and it just looks so awesome with all the models on the table. So, I'm going to go with the ultimate starter set next time I go to my LGS. I'll pick up the kill team starter set in the future. I can't wait to assemble all the models and paint them! Cheers!

Isn't the space marine kill team illegal to play. You need 6 dudes, but you can't have eliminator&heavy gravis dude and/or the sgt&cpt on the same time. So you always would end with a 5 men illegal team

ya its a good box. the kill teams are getting ridiculous. used to be 1 box, and good to go. now boxes like the imperial agents, you need 1 or two more boxes. stuff like the chaos cult, requires 3 boxes... kill team shouldnt cost $100-200 per team. it should be around $60-75

ya with a couple teams costing substantially more. the agents or chaos cult kill team, require 2-3 boxes, for around $160 if you want to use them. crazy for a skirmish game!

@@WarHammerMan Bad that... Warhammer is one of the few hobbies that are “cheaper” for us in the EU, but even then it's getting costly. Kill Team coop is something I really want to get into with my wife but early signs are the Special Ops "rules" are just 4 pages ...
