I have a doctor power 3 and the issue I have with this thing is let's say you only have one power supply and the tester won't turn on, how do you know it's the actual power supply that's broken and not the tester? It has no power source of its own. That's pretty frustrating and seems like a large oversight.

I’ve got another question! 🙋 What happens if you plug in 12 pin adapter to the unit and then hook up the standard PCI-E cables to it?

How often do you use this for diagnosis? I love the idea of it, I just don’t know how often I would practically use it. I actually don’t think I’ve has a psu fail.

I don't know anyone who goes through multiple power supply's during the life of a computer. Power supply is the one thing that lasts at least 2 builds

Not true I actually had a brand name 80 plus gold rated power supply go bad on me in my wife's computer and it had at most 80 hours worth of usage and just sat in the office for 2 years. Ended up being a bad power supply right and I had to replace it. I've also had computers that just will randomly shut off due to bad power supplies.

psu testers are super useful when checking computers that are not yours, you can start of the process being sure the psu works. Also very useful when doing custom cables
