Bill did so much for our franchise he can say whatever he wants
@hindsight-gd7bzСағат бұрын
You guys are reading too much into this. Bill Belichick no longer works for the team. He can now be honest about their situation. It’s not incumbent on Bill Belichick to defend this team anymore. THIS IS ALL ROBERT CRAFT’S FAULT. He hired the wrong coach to rebuild this franchise after he supposedly “fired” the greatest coach of all time . It’s damage control for Robert Kraft. He knows he got the team into this mess. See it for what it is.
@patriotsfan1224802 сағат бұрын
4:07 he lost his last game as a Pats head coach to the Jets. 17-3, Trevor Siemian was the QB, Hall had over 150 yards and a TD, and the game never even felt close, despite the FG game it was for the most part (against a crappy QB). Bill can and will say what he wants, and yeah, he’s not wrong, but the blame for where the team is and will be for the next few years also being his responsibility isn’t wrong either. He was a great coach for the majority of 23 years, won us multiple Super Bowls, and helped create this fan base for the team. But he went out with a losing record, sad offense, and yeah, the Defense played well last year and had single score losses for the most part, but against mostly backups of backups of QB’s. No matter who the HC and GM were going to be, they were setup for failure for the next few years. I don’t think Mayo was really ready to be an HC, didn’t think that before the season started, but Vrabel imo wasn’t going to have much of a different record either. The team’s just not good.

😂! Just maybe... having a brand spankin' new HC who's never been the solo head of even the Defense...let alone a HC in control of handling a rebuilding team with a new DC, and an OC who really has never been a playcaller... WAS A BAD IDEA. The Patriots may not have a bunch of high-end talent, but they're professional football players. They are NOT being coached properly. Mayo might 1 day be a great HC, but he clearly is not ready to be in this position. I don't know if Vrabel would have had this team with a much better win/loss record...but NE wouldn't be the joke of the league that they are right now. You can't expect an inexperienced HC to take over after a legend, and rebuild a team. I was ready to see NE near the bottom of the league this year, but this coaching job has become an embarrassment.

As a side effect, of course it’s going to be taken as him shit talking the team, but I think he was just being honest about what he knows and what he saw. I don’t think Mayo is going to last as a head coach and doesn’t seem to be doing a great job, but I also think Belichick is partly responsible for where the team is right now. The manchild in the middle is disgusting to witness, failing repeatedly, even after being directed where the obvious subject is, and doubling down into idiocy with trying an Uno reverse card back on Belichick. What Mayo did was something Head Coaches are not supposed to do. That team played their asses off and hard af the first game of the season. If they aren't now in Mayo's opinion, then he should spend more time figuring that out and less on throwing them under the bus and begging them to tank the remainder of the season to get his ass out the door (which, they arguably should). I don't expect someone of Bill's caliber, with all that he brought to that organization that dumped him on his ass, to then suck them off for the positives. I don't expect him out here mocking their repeated failures either. I DO expect Bill to say 'whoa, pump them effing brakes with that bs statement you just made to the Press, Mayo'. Yeah. Jesus, the Pats aren't even my team, but I have more love and respect for everyone involved in that repeated dynasty than that shitmonger blowhard in the middle.
@SuperTomdog12 сағат бұрын
The Patriots aren't good enough to beat anyone right now. Maye may be a stud but this team is devoid of talent. Their best bet is to strip it down, trade any assets for picks and get legitimate talent in next year's draft. Look at Brian Thomas from the Jags. That guy is a stud. This whole roster needs revamping. It's as bad ad bad can be. Between the injuries, discipline issues, poor drafting and weak free agent pickups never mind unused cap space we are near rock bottom. I hope Elliot has "the eye" because we let Caserio get away. That was a mistake.

I wanted Bill out, it was time for a fresh start. However, I didn't actually think the Krafts would willingly give up their ownership right to interview multiple people for the HC position and give a guaranteed contract to a guy who was a linebackers coach for a few seasons. The Krafts drove the bus over Bill and the reversed it and then drove over him again. I don't blame Bill at all for calling a spade a spade now that we're well into the season here and this organization is clearly clueless.

Part of this blame is on Mayo for sure, but its also on the Kraft's and Wolf. They is no attraction to come play here, so at some point they are going to have to over pay to get someone people here.
