We lost Andrew Billings, and our defense falls apart. Think about that. Nothing against the guy. He's a good player, but the depth on the D line is absolutely horrible. Just like the O line.
@DavidGonzalez-kv1ncКүн бұрын
Well, maybe I don’t know how football works, but I wonder why not mess with fronts schematically so that the loss doesn’t impact the defense as much as it has?

The o-line has at least looked serviceable the past couple weeks. The D line is atrocious.

@@tz7763 Well, it started out as bottom third, and we lost our 2nd best piece.
@spaceghost89955 сағат бұрын
EXACTLY! Billing is now on his SEVENTH team. It's not like he's some All-Pro dude. You shouldn't just fall apart. Same thing happened with Akeem Hicks. Defense fell apart without Hicks. You know N.E and N.O had both already cut Hicks and neither team missed a beat.

I am a Viking fan 80 years old lived in Rockford for 8 years in the 60’s and 70’s. Stuff goes wrong for every team I know this that kid you have at QB is going to make you forget the bad times and it’s gonna happen soon. You need a coach like the Vikings have. KOC is the real deal. Go find yourself one somewhere.

The Bears passed on O’Connell and hired Eberflus instead the same year they got hired. That’s the difference.

This is the best Chicago Bears podcast out there. Thanks guys. Tough season. All I can hope for is for Virginia to come to her senses, pull a Martha Ford, and fire everyone including, and especially, George. He is an incompetent doofus and new leadership is badly needed.

My wife is a huge Bears fan and she has been REAL moody this season. She hates losing. I should have married a Packer fan because she’s driving frickin’ crazy.

I bet your wife has shown more passion about the losses than Nice Guy Flus. I’d rather see the angry Bellichek scowl and statements like, “it’s just bad football” vs a moping Flus with his “we’ll have to look at the tape” responses.

I’m ready to move off Poles. I’m sick of the turnover and he has made some really good additions but keeping Flus and letting this happen to good players in their prime (Jaylon and DJ) go to waste is fireable. I cannot see one reason they kept Flus when you fired Getsy and had a promising rookie qb. Ya fucked his first year too. Flus was just cliche after cliche in hard knocks. Players don’t level up under him. They don’t -they just don’t. He’s a bad coach and I’m so sick of this franchise. They ve become a laughing stock.
@vincedidiana5781Күн бұрын
I wouldn’t give up on Poles. He obviously made a bad hire with the grossly gelled one. However, although like all GMs who make mistakes, Poles I believe has done more good than bad. I’d give him one more hire and off-season. If he blows the next hire, he’ll obviously get the boot.
@DiggitteyКүн бұрын
@@vincedidiana5781 I agree. I like a lot of things but the offensive line is concerning and I just can’t understand the hanging onto Flus. You can’t even make up the crazy stats on how bad he is. 6 games with a 90 percent win probability - and he can’t muster out one win. It’s insanity-yesterday was exciting but when they took it to overtime I just knew this coach would not be able to call a defense to keep the Vikings from scoring and that’s supposed to be his strength.

The “top 10 defense” gets exposed against the better offenses. Last season, the last half of the games were mostly against backup QB’s and guys not on the same teams this year. It was all a smoke screen and how Eberlose possibly still has a job.
@Chitex03Күн бұрын
Sorry, Eberflus autocorrected to Eberlose for some strange reason on my phone.*
@CalebRose-t3m19 сағат бұрын
Yup. Most defenses can look good against Aidan O'Connell, rookie Bryce Young, Taylor Heinecke, Andy Dalton, Goff outdoors in the cold, etc.
@Nautilus1972Күн бұрын
Floose rushes four all day long. The problem with that kind of defense is that three out of the four need to be all-pros. Poles has failed to put quality on either line. They all need to go. Bring us Rex Ryan.

There is nothing "vaunted" about the Bears defense. Before the fail Mary it was an OK unit. But that game broke that unit. As a Bear fan of 40 long miserable years (less the '85 Super Bowl) I know how delusional and idiotic Bears fans and Chicago sports media can be at times.

While the O-line remains less than a first rate unit, Caleb Williams is finding a way late in games to get some points. Since the bye, the defense has regressed and no one seems to mention the glaring reason why, Brisker and Billings are out so the pass rush and secondary coverage are insufficient. That speaks to the lack of depth Ryan Poles has built on this team. And now that we have a QB, it mostly comes down to the lines. If the lines are stout and powerful, many other pieces are plug and play. When skill players get injured on great teams, strong line play facilitate making their replacements very successful, obviously with a franchise QB who can pass receivers open and create a run game from the threat of the pass, great fakes, and good play calls from the OC. The Bears are years away from building all these pieces to be a contender, let alone a dynasty, and only if they can find a GM and coach to do it.

Why would Ben Johnson want this OL? He’s good because of the OL he has. Agree we need a better play caller but I like TB so far. Elevate him to HC and give him an offseason. But Poles has to fix both lines. He’s shown no ability to get past mediocre so far.
@ericdavis1380Күн бұрын
Pace 😅😅😅😢😢😂😂 Poles engineered a trade to bring us a true generational QB...he deserves at least 2 coaches....meanwhile...is Pace currently shinning...he don't even have a job of a current GM...if he was so good he would be a GM for somebody...he stuck N Atlanta front office N they should keep him 😅
@vincedidiana5781Күн бұрын
Our line isn’t great, obviously. However, I’ll disagree for one main reason. How many jobs open up with a quarterback like Caleb? A brilliant mind like Johnson would salivate having the opportunity to work with Caleb. Most open jobs don’t have a talent like that at quarterback. I believe, and rightfully so, he wants to get paid. There are many awful jobs opening up this off-season.
