Coaching matters more in football than any other sport. Games are won and lost on the fringes, our coaching staff can't coach around the fringes there are so many mistakes I've lost count. With a competent coaching staff this team is 7-4 at worst and likely 8-3 or 9-2.

@james_robnett19 сағат бұрын
And the losses to the Pats and Cards were pretty much Commander hangover games. If we replayed them now we'd win easy. If we stop the commanders *and* switch to Brown we could be 8-3. And yeah your record is your record but from a talent perspective the Bears are a low tier playoff team. If we get a good HC and improve the O and D Line talent we're a solid playoff team. Give that 2 years to gel and maybe you can win an SB.

Birds Eye view.... Caleb is developing. It was the right call to trade Fields and draft him. That alone is a massive plus. Does it ensure he continues to develop ? No .. Is development a liner arrow up ? no .. but so far lots of good things to see at this point in season vs bad. Is it the worst thing to be better than our record suggests ? No .. will we get a top-10 pick .. probably. Interior OL, DL pass rushers, DT.. upgrades needed. Not having safety / secondary depth is hurting us this year because when we field our starters we are top-10. Verdict - Eberflus and his staff go. I like Thomas Brown a lot and in an ideal world we keep him somehow but every new coach deserves the ability to bring in his staff. Picking that staff and coach will be everything. Beardown folks

Am sure Caleb could care less about fantastic passes for just a win. His fans have suffered through Patriots, Cardinals, Titans, Texans were Caleb was below average. Rookie Of The Year? Bo and Jayden are about winning games. Five straight losses. 25 straight quarters with no touchdowns passes? Cmon man.
@joeraguso537621 сағат бұрын
I take it you haven't been watching Jayden lately, and Bo is just a product of the Sean Payton system. Caleb has a lot more responsibilities out there than those two have. And I think you're right about Caleb just wanting to win, but to mention the bad games early on and the no TD passesstreak is just being disingenuous. Don't be such a simpleton

Good coaching matters. Caleb made plays against Minn that neither of those 2 other QBs can ever make. Blaming a rookie qb for his poor play in his first 2 starts with a OC who had to be yelled at by every offensive player to change his system.

This is not a mystery / rocket science - look at the stats - when the O-line plays better- the offense works. Not shocking.
@joeraguso537621 сағат бұрын
The o-line has consistently been league average all year. Over half of Caleb's sacks taken this year have come after 4 seconds, and he leads the league at that. The o-line and the offense looks better when Caleb gets rid of the ball quicker. It looks like that was a Shane Waldren problem for the most part right now. I mean, the guy didn't even tell Caleb how many steps to take dropping back. Timing on offense looks so much better the last two weeks.
@MS-ht9it21 сағат бұрын
Playing in constant fear of getting crushed will impact your decision making? Crazy talk.
@joeraguso537621 сағат бұрын
@@MS-ht9it With the way Caleb goes out of his way to extend plays, I doubt that's the issue
@TheSjuris20 сағат бұрын
@@joeraguso5376 Caleb was always going to hold the ball longer that comes with a rookie qb who is mobile and has the athleticism to do it. What’s different is that Brown told him to take chances with his throws and let his arm talent win the play. What he did against one of the top defenses in the league is impressive. Most rookie QBs struggle against a Flores defense with his ability to hide and disguise his schemes.
@joeraguso537620 сағат бұрын
@TheSjuris He's also objectively getting rid of the ball almost a full second quicker on average the last two games than he did under Waldren. That'll unquestionably make your o-line look better too.

No Rookie QB should be throwing 47 times. He had 32 completions and 5 drops. If you dont think he is a real NFL Qb then your clueless IMO. Lamar Jackson threw 21 times yesterday for the leagues best offense. This team needs better coaching. Its been a lowlight since the Indy Game

Do you think his good throws give you confidence given some of the overthrows and underthrows he was having other games - maybe not as much this one? And do you think those over/under throws are a product more of the poor line or do you think he should be able to compensate for that better since he is a better than an average quarterback? I guess I'm worried because of all of the other quarterbacks that were drafted after him and seem to be so damn good.
@nedseldomridge287314 сағат бұрын
I think some of those bad misses are because the coaching staff over coached him on not turning the ball over and throwing ints.
