I remember discovering this song as a 12 year old in the mid 00s listed as a Sex Pistols song on limewire lmao it was obvious it wasn’t but I’ve loved it ever since and listen to it every year ❤

Ground Zero of LA Punk. Never Mind NYC - The REAL scene in America was Hollywood. NYC had some fantastic bands - Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, Heartbreakers, Television (and they created the scene - THANK YOU!) - but LA had it ALL! Punk nightclubs sprang up all over LA-Orange County overnight. And it was out of the Hollywood scene that "Punk Rock Christmas" was created by a local club band called "Daddy Maxfield". They changed their name to "The Ravers" for the record (a more suitable name for the genre) . . . I was working at Greg Shaw's legendary BOMP! Records, and very hip BOMP! Magazine. During Christmas 1977 - "Punk Rock Christmas" was in heavy rotation in our outlet store. In 1976-'79, Every Punk New Wave Band in the universe - from Blondie to Eddie & The Hot Rods to The Dickies, The Ramones, Levi Dexter & The Rockcats, Devo, Talking Heads, The Plimsouls, The Screamers, Fear, The Weirdos, The Last, The Damned - you name 'em - they ALL came to Bomp! on Saturdays (when I manned the counter at the Bomp! Outlet Store) to buy rare Rock 'n' Roll records, hear the latest Punk releases - and hobnob with their felllow Punks. It was an amazing scene (Nothing like it since 1962 Liverpool). And there were really THREE "Epicenters" of Punk in the late-1970s: New York, London, and Hollywood. I'm just "glad all over" (to coin a phrase) to have been a part of it when the "real world" couldn't have cared less. Anyway, to get back on track - I loved "Punk Rock Christmas". They nailed the era!!

@falcodelta - Sorry, but you have this band confused with another one called The Ravers. The band who did this song were Daddy Maxfield from Los Angeles, who changed their name to The Ravers... The lead singer, Graham Daddy, passed away earlier this month. R.I.P. Graham
