I know I'm very late to commenting on this, but i just returned from vacation. I love the room sales and honestly would just adore seeing so many great dolls all together! Being able to purchase a few would be a nice bonus, but i would get so much pleasure just from essentially visiting a Fashion Doll Museum. You've made me think i really need to get it together and go to a Barbie/fashion doll convention soon.

I collect the 16" fashion dolls and have been to many conventions! So glad that you got to go to your very first one. Room sales are so much fun, and you can find unique items. And sometimes at cheap prices!! Enjoy all your future conventions.

Ohh 16"! Those are rather large! But Lucie does have a few of those as well. 😊 This isn't our first convention. We were in Chicago last year as well as the Rome Fashion Doll Convention. 😊 Room sales are tons of fun, but also dangerous... 🤣 Might need another suitcase afterwards. It's great to get to know some of the older collectors who want to downsize and just make sure their collection goes to younger collectors instead of leaving their family to deal with it... Anyways, conventions are the best! 💖 - Cord

I haven't been to a Barbie Convention (yet) but from all the videos I have seen so far, room sales seem to be my favorite part. Each room has something unique and I can see myself spending the entire going from room to room.

Ahh yes! The best and most dangerous part! It's hard to thread that needle with convention and tons of gifts coming to really know how much luggage space there is, so you don't have to make a donation package or say uh oh, I need another suitcase! 🤣💖 - Cord

Oh, and the prices are really fun too! A lot of people have completely unfounded prices, like around the corner in another room a person will have the same exact in box doll for $50 less... So that makes it fun too... Knowing that in the next room you might find the same exact doll for cheaper... 🤣💖 - Cord

Thanks Sharon! We definitely enjoyed our time at convention, even though physically Lucie wasn't feeling the best this year. Doll outfits as in the set? We got so many amazing clothing pieces this year! And yes, that's now our second time meeting her and this year we met her Ken and chatted for a while as well. She is very nice. I think meeting fans and other content creators throughout the week is really tough and quite tiring, and she does an amazing job of that. When we had our first fans come up and say they know us from KZbin or Instagram and want photos it took us a bit off guard. 🤣 I'm sure we'll get used to it though eventually... 🤷‍♂️😁💖 - Cord

Hi Cord and Lucie! I saw you in glimpses on Azusa's videos! It looked like an amazing convention and I hope you both had lots of fun! I've seen room sales on flosstube (Cross stitch) videos in the past. I used to cross stitch but no longer do that but every year the designers have a convention in a hotel and use the rooms they are staying in as shops. It looked very similar to the one you went to! ♥

It was a great convention! I wasn't there fully, but I'd dare to say that last year's in Chicago was a touch better just because the theme was 1920s, and everything was glamorous and over the top... This year the theme was Barbie for all seasons, which was fun, but not particularly stylish... Lots of picnic and seasonal themed outdoorsy stuff... Our Barbies are city fashion models! 🤣🤣🤣 But no, it's an amazing convention every year. That's awesome that there's a cross stitch convention! Never even thought there could be something like that... So many gorgeous dolls! I have that Day in the Sun Barbie, but without the outfit. If I ever heard of a convention nearby, I think I'd just find the hotel and shop lol. Most of the prices seemed pretty in line with what I see online, but a few seemed like incredible bargains! That made me smile because (in my mind) the seller was more interested in sharing the joy than making a profit. Did you go with a shopping/wish list, or did you just buy whatever struck your fancy? I only returned to doll collecting last winter, went a little crazy wanting one of each body type and falling in love with certain face sculpts, and just recently decided that - while I love looking at a lot of different Barbies - I really only want to collect and display vintage looking ones like Silken Flame, Busy Gal, and the Hollywood Collection. Also, a few Mikelman dolls - retro Charisse and Candi. Love the energy of your videos

Thank you ePowell! The convention for shopping is only available to non-convention participants on Saturday out of the like 5 day event. I suppose no one would keep you out of room shopping, but you'd need to know the hotel, and which area the sellers in the hotel are. This hotel was like a maze! Last year in Chicago it was awesome having completely open floors and being able to see who's doors were open. In any case, for sure many of the prices were fair, but at least for those of us in Europe, many of those dolls never show up online, and they're much, much more expensive. Last year we had an extensive wish list, and we probably bought a lot more because of it. This year it was more what or who we liked and for a great price. We're for sure getting to the point where we're going to need to pick a more limited direction, because we're having issues being able to store and display all of our dolls respectably. So I get that. I think that if you're into vintage, you'd love the NBDCC! There are so many rooms selling vintage, and so many vintage only collectors. That's not what we specialize in, so we don't have a lot of that content, but I'd say probably 30-40% of the room sales for example do purely vintage. Hey Rigor! Agreed! We tried, but we're still learning... And getting used to the fact that recording makes quite a lot of people nervous or uncomfortable... So then we speed up and things aren't quite as visible. Apologies! We're planning on doing some sort of larger haul with prices of what we got. The thing about room sales is usually prices that are listed are negotiable, and people don't actually buy for the listed price anyways. 😊
