OMG! Barbie Convention 2023 Day 1 🛍️ Room Sales, Doll Shopping 💑

OMG! It's our first day at the NBDCC Nation Barbie Convention in Orlando Florida 2023! You get to see our trip to the hotel, day 1 shopping, room sales, our doll haul, and so much more!
We see a lot of the Barbie the Movie dolls and even the RC Barbie car, then we check in to the Hyatt Regency in Orlando. Then it's off to room sales where we see so many great dolls including one of a kind dolls by Ninimomo, first Barbies, Vintage, loose dolls, so much dolly clothing, custom designed dresses and bags, and so much more!
This is a Barbie collector's dream video. And of course see who we bought at the end!

Sadly I didn't get to go even though I live in FL 😔 I love your shopping haul especially the signed Totally Hair Barbie 😍 I had the entire bowling set minus the Barbie doll 👍 but the bowling bag was falling apart due to age I guess so I had to throw it out 👎

Don't worry, even NIB the bag was really worn and needs some work. Unfortunately these faux leathers from the 90s don't hold up well. But I think she's classic, and the bowling ball itself is amazing! The totally hair repro is a great doll and such a classic. Sad you weren't able to join! Hello from Connecticut 👋 I just discovered your channel and I’m really enjoying catching up with you guys. I grew up playing with Barbie’s from the mid 70s to early 80s. Unfortunately, I didn’t save my original dolls but that didn’t stop me from purchasing reproduction Superstar Barbie and Christie for myself for Christmas last year. The superstar era is my absolute favorite ⭐️⭐️ since then I’ve purchased a few other Barbies from my youth. Fast forward to current day and I found myself branching out to the naturalista line, I just love love love them!! Most recently I’ve ordered the Anna May Wong Barbie and she’s spectacular! I also have been purchasing different outfits as well. I love how you redress your dolls. I need some encouragement on that because I just can’t seem to part with changing out my Barbies from their original outfits. It feels taboo to me. Any suggestions…….. Thank you 😊

Hey Janet, that's awesome that you're enjoying our videos! 🤩 Superstar is an amazing era! Naturalistas are great, ai hope Lucie does a review, because I think that in box they are almost nicer than out. In any case, when it comes to dressing and working with unboxed dolls, I'd recommend getting a thrifted doll or two out of box, and doing their makeovers before branching out to your boxed dolls. I think something that was great for me personally was when Lucie made me my mini-me. I had to then redress him here at convention with the cool new clothes he got. Anyways, don't let anyone tell you or pressure you into collecting differently. If you love mint in box dolls, then collect that way. If you want to learn to debox and give makeovers / care for them better, then start slow with used dolls. 😊💖 - Cord

A lot of people save up for it and go every year even though they're on a fixed income... This is their vacation... But obviously that's something that you'd need to look into to see if it's a possibility. 💖 - Cord

Next year's convention in Palm Springs sold out in 3 minutes... There is a waiting list, but I'd expect that to be rather long. In any case, maybe look at local club meetings or mini-conventions... I think there's probably a Washington club that does like a 30 person convention every year as well. 😊💖 - Cord

I started collecting a Korean Barbie doll as an adult collector. I have been collecting dolls of and on since 2006. My first Barbie as a child was Golden Dreams Barbie.

So many older collectors downsizing or wanting their collections to go to good people who they know will care for and treasure the dolls!
