Hey DC, I hopping that you read this comment because of how much effort It took, so here goes nothing. I created a homebrew class to DND called hermit, it is a class that can cast only concentration spells with a special resource called endurance points, it gains those points by getting hit our failing checks/saves/missing atacks. furthermore, it can use it's constitution modifier in attacks or spells by spending EP. All it's subclasses are based on the color wheell of magic the gathering. If you found this super interesting, let me know, I'd love to see some of those concepts on dc20. I made the class and subclasses all the way to lvl 20. Made my best to make it balanced and fun! It's a tank/support class.

Probably not what your mind jumped to Alan, but your PDF 5e-to-DC20 conversion has me over here planning "DC20: Star Wars" using a 5e Force User class I found homebrewed online. From there I plan on creating all of my blasters, thermal detonators, and aaaaaalll of the rest of it. I haven't felt so inspired to run MULTIPLE campaigns in a very, very long time

for a moment i felt that having your primary stat simply be your highest stat would lead to impossible to conceptualize combos, and in a small effort to test my assumption, i thought "strength based bard". for a moment i was convinced there was very little to be done, maybe a concept that overlaps with agility with your dancing bard concept. but then creativity hit me like a sack of bricks. its just some dude who has good rhythm and fights to the beat of the music he imagines, or straight up listening to music if in a modern setting. i would be lying if i said my immediate thought afterwards wasnt lethal league's "ain't nothin like a funky beat" lmao

I’ve never seen a Kickstarter page list off all contractors involved. There are 13 artists, 15 contracted writers, editors, feedback etc. So all kickstarters I’ve seen just post the “Team” as those that work on the actual company / directors etc I hope that clears things up 👍🏼

Ive been working on a ttrpg system for the past year and a half with an almost identical action point system. My game is very much a rules light version, and has its own races / race progression along with its own rethought magic system. It's a completely different game in its own right, but it makes me happy to see that people enjoy the idea of multiple actions on both your turn and your enemies. The game's name is OneShard, and will hopefully be on Kickstarter within the next year. Love what your doing with DC20, and cant wait to play it myself.

This should be waayyyy more popular imho. I've been racking my brain over one thing though... The "Commander" class is cool and all... But how the hell do I roleplay a *Commander* ? Wouldn't that just be a more experienced fighter? Wouldn't the only context for that character be war-based? I feel like the only avenues could be: - commander in training - leader of the group - nerdy battle strategist i.e. Shikamaru from Natuto I'd love an answer to this question

Can you compare DC20 to pathfinder second edition? I feel like there are a lot of similarities (like the 3/4 action system) but everything is even more refinded, with pf2e being kind of in the middle between dnd and dc20. I'd really appreciate a video covering that topic.

Idea for dc20 what if, any ghost like monster has an attack called "nightmare" (or something similar) so when a ghost does that specific attack on someone, that player has to roll a mystical save (mental save) if the player fails, the player now has the condition called "insomnia or nightmare" for 1 or 2 days.... So any time that player tries to sleep, that player gets nightmares and can't sleep since that ghost is now in thier nightmares (giving them exhaustion for the next whole day) Or maybe there is an Evil spellscaster who has a spell called "nightmare", so if a player fails the save against it, and tries to sleep, they relive past traumas in nightmares, or they see all the other party members/loved ones dying in the nightmare, leaving them unable to sleep. As now these nightmares could be used for roleplay aswell, giving players something to talk to eachother about and bond The nightmare condition would ware off after one day or something, so its not deadly) And while the party was sleeping, that player was in one place, not attacking or being attacked, that player mechanically has benefits of a short rest, (being healed and stuff) but the lack of sleep leaves them exhausted

Hello! Any chance we get a video for DMs? All the Player Character stuff sounds interesting, but how will DC20 would work from the other side of the screen? For example: how do you run encounters? Because I don't really want to track 4 to 6 enemies with 4 AP each and having to track each time they use actions outside their turns. Do monsters use a different action system so I don't need to have an excel sheet? 😅

I’m excited about this project. Do you think combat will move faster? My main issues with 5e that it feels like 2 distinct game systems one is this open improv where you can try to do almost anything sort of game, then you drop into combat everything slows down dramatically and becomes this rigid rules system that can take a long time.

Hi! I'm totally new here, sorry if this has been answered already. So, I'm reading the rules pdf and page 28 it says that 20 is an auto success. Page 29, the tip says you shouldn't call for impossible checks. Where I'm confused is that if you don't call for impossible checks, then the auto success on 20s is useless, because a 20 would have success anyway. If you want the auto success on crit rule to be useful, you have to call for impossible checks. Did anyone else is confused by that too?

My interpretation is it means "impossible physically" not "impossible mathematically." For example, you could have a situation where it's *possible* for someone to, say, hit a target with an arrow while blind in a hurricane, but the various penalties and level differences mean that rolling a 20 wouldn't actually reach the DC (i.e. you have a +3 to hit, -5 for being blind, -5 for the hurricane, and the PDC is 15...your normal max result is 13, but a nat 20 means you still hit). In this case, the 20 makes it work out anyway, so you still have a 5% chance of success even against really difficult odds or an overwhelming enemy. Hitting the *moon* with an arrow, however, is outright impossible. It's not a matter of DC...the character isn't physically capable of the task. In D&D, the bounded accuracy system basically implies you have a 5% success chance on *every* action, no matter how absurd. Anyone who's actually played D&D, however, already recognizes that the DM has "veto" rights on impossible tasks, so this is just DC20 specifying that same basic concept.

I dont get the early plegde system. To me it seems that the cheapest version, the PDF for 40$ comes with a free hardcover book? And the hardcover for 65$ comes with a free Pdf. I really wonder how healing & tanking is done in this game. I love those roles in MMO's, but they are done horribly in 5e. I winder if DC20 solved the issues with these roles.
